2 new balls for medium conditions

i am thinking of picking up 2 new balls for medium conditions, one for a skid snap reaction and one control ball. I am thinking of drilling an ultimate inferno or a similar strong reactive with a 315* drilling. i am also thinking of drilling a green gargoyle with a 4 x 5 drilling. Remember, i want one ball to snap and one to have a more controlled setup. Any comments on ball selection or drilling would be appreciated!

just my opinion but i think the UI would burn up on medium regardless of drilling.

Never tried a 315 degree drilling , so I don't have much to offer.  All I can repeat is that they work best with assymmetric cores, 0-1" pins, and less than 2 oz top weight.  If you just want something controllable for medium oil, you probably don't need a high end ball with an exotic layout.  Any medium oil reactive or light load particle with an early rolling drill pattern should work just as well.  The Green Gargoyle is pretty snappy, but I think medium oil would be a stretch.  Something like a Silver Streak Pearl or X-Factor would be a better choice.

Here is a small discusion on 315 that we had earlier:

I use it on a charcoal executioner, and have had good results thus
far.

IF you are looking for a medium oil skid snap I would pick the visionary
G-3 Gryphon, over the green gargoyle.  The green gargoyle is more of a light
oil ball.  You could also go with the crimson executioner for your skid snap ball.  I would drill the crimson over the fingers though.

I am breaking in:

*Oil+  Midnight Scorcher stacked leverage

*Oil Purple ice Label leverage

*Med oil Charcoal ex label leverage

*Med charcoal ex 315 leverage

-in between DC Tour 4X3  MB Stacked

*Med dry crimson ex Stacked leverage

-in between DC Warlock 10:30 pin over bridge

*Dry slate blue gargoyle label leverage

I have had the most luck with the DC and executioner cores.

If you are going with the UI on the 315 You might want to hit it with some polish, but try it first.

do you guys really think the gg isnt strong enough for mediums? i used to have a flame reactive that i bought thinking it was going to be a dry lane ball because of the weak core and it ended up being more of a medium oil ball. That ball even has a higher rg and diff. then the gg does. i drilled the ball 6 x 5 fyi. is the gg cover that weak that i wont even be able to use it on mediums? the only fear i have is that if i get the g3, it will not be as snappy as i want it too be. I really dont see the gg being a light oil ball though from the specs on it. Is the cover that weak?

I have a used gg that I throw every once and a while.
From what I seen it would have to be used first game,
because carrydown would give it fits.

The gg would end up being a med light ball IMO
FI you have hand though, you may be able to get it
to work on mediums.

IF it is drilled 4X5 you may be ok.  I would put the pin
over the bridge and expect to use it on meds

Mine is drilled stacked leverage. (if you can't tell by now I like leverage
positions)

The pin is in a leverage position about 1.5" Down and .5 " Right of my ring
finger(RH).
