Got to thinking

How much weight do you think is removed when drilling the 1 1/2 hole when installing a turbo switch grip?

Check the bowlingchat.net wiki and click on the weight removal chart. That will let you know the weight being removed and at what depths

FWIW - A 1.5" hole removes 125% more material than a 1" hole of the equivalent depth.  I'd be more worried about diminished core dynamics at that size and depth.  It's likely not on the Jayhawk chart since it's illegal to use a hole larger than 1.25" for balance purposes.

Static weight has little to no effect on overall ball reaction.

Also - I reviewed the USBC Equip. and Spec. manual and it's illegal to deliver a ball without the inner assembly locked in place or to drill the pilot hole for the outer assembly deeper than the installed outer assembly.
