Title: thumb insert

is there a such thing as a thumb insert that has a cushion or something on it. i have a very sore lower thumb on the inside of my palm from the fit

Nothing I'm aware of that would help that area of the thumb.  Try some more bevel in that area.  If that doesn't help, either your spans are too long or the pitches aren't right.  --  JohnP
