Can this be drilled?

There's a ball on ebay with a pin to cg distance of 8 3/4 inches. Can this ball be drilled for anything?

It would really depend on the top weight.  As long as it isn't terribly high you can make it work, but if it's 3+ ounces you could run into problems getting side weight out.  The other small issue is you will have to put the pin above the fingers as the CG will be on the bottom of the ball.  This will leave a little challenge in getting the ending top weight correct.

What is the ball? A symmetric ball could be flipped and drilled fairly successfully. An asymmetric ball would be much trickier because of the MB.

Yes it can. Go to the link and it will explain. Just use your quarter scale and it will take and extra minute compared to first quality bowling balls to layout.

Did this on a Bonanza label ball a few years ago and it rolled perfect.

I did this on a long pin tropical heat.  Measure 13.5" from the pin to find the other side of the core .. use that spot as your new pin.. That should put the cg 4.75 from the new pin.. More than likely you are going to have to have a long pin to pap or have the pin pretty to the VAL, but it should work..

 

I was trying to get the ball to be longer and more angular in the back end.. not sure if it worked the way it should because I don't have another tropical heat to compare it too.. but mine is very angular on the backend.

It's a Bonanza Columbia Wicked which I believe has a symmetric core.
