Burned up heads!!!
« on: December 12, 2007, 05:29:01 AM »
Does anyone have any ideas on how to drill a ball for a high rev player that will get through burnt up heads but still have a little left on the back ends???
i ran into trouble in a tourney this weekend where in match play i couldnt get anything through the heads!
Didnt matter if it was a strong ball or a week ball, still wouldnt get through the heads without hooking a mile!!!
Thanks

Your much better but this

May Work!

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS note this ball was real mellow with this far out pin to pap drilling and no weighthole.  Weighthole 2 1/4 inches past VAL on grip center thru cg line created a length then backend ball.....sweet!  AND strong but only WAY down the lane!

Move your feet and don't listen to LL. Asymmetric Low RG/High Diff is NOT the answer.

Seriously though, if you're looking for a layout and a ball, you need to find a medium-med high RG with a lower Diff for anything to work well. Layouts should be 5 1/2-6" from PAP in order to reduce flare even more. If you can get the ball to be a little less responsive to friction, then you're better for it.

I would loft the ball and clear the heads. Easy adjustment and that way you don't have to worry about buy new balls or getting one drilled. Add loft pass the burnt heads and be done with it.

Lane masters straight flush or a lane 1 silver bullet both were spare balls for me but the guys i let throw them with revs they killed with them.

What if you would barbell a bowling ball. I have a Tropical Storm that I have a pin exactly 3 in. and it is right in my grip line to the right with the cg dead in my palm. I have had great success with that and its a real smooth reaction.

The proprietor might complain, but there is no rule that says the ball has to touch the lane; like Robert Smith said a couple of weeks ago, the ball doesn't hook in the air

How many of you are strong/accurate enough to consistantly hit your mark out there like him though...  Thats not something everybody can do.  And I'd take Nick's word for it. I've had success on hooking heads using lower Diff. equipment, I just wish my pin distance was a little longer.
