little help with high energy
« on: May 12, 2005, 11:27:00 AM »
my energy is drilled pin above bridge, cg right maybe 3/4" works out to be like...5x4.5. it's got a decent pin on it, so i had no problem with too much finger weight. my high energy came today, and i want to drill it with the same layout, but it's only got a 2.5" pin. what i'm wondering, is with the 2.58oz of top weight that it has, will i have too much finger weight? the cg will be about 1" below my fingers...what do you think? i know i'll have to check it, but how deep would i have to drill the fingers? just wondering, probably drill it tomorrow and guess and check it. lol.

Matt...

You should be able to get the finger weight out easy enough with a top weight in that range.  Just remember to not drill the thumb too deep...that will help.  As with an situation that you are unsure about make sure to mark the ball and weigh it first.

You should like your high energy...just don't be surprise when you throw it.  By that I mean it hooks a lot more than the energy did, atleast in box condition.  I have yet to try mine polished though...as I like the reaction I get with it "as is."

you can still go 5 x 4 1/2 with the pin under the fingers,..Myself,I like shorter pin balls with the pins down or to the side of the ring,...longer pins work best for me over the fingers,...also top weight is not a bad thing,..sometimes it's nice to get the ball to go a little longer..
