Help Needed!! Total Inferno drilling
« on: February 06, 2007, 12:11:25 PM »
Im left handed I throw the ball down the first arrow with low rpm about 15-16 mph and i desire a good back end on my ball.  I got my total inferno which has a 2-3 pin out 2.9 ounce top weight and got it drilled to react like i explained above. But the ball doesn't hook on oily lanes??? I think I got it drilled wrong?? The closest finger hole is about 1/4 inch below the white mark on the ball and just a tad to the right. My question is, can a ball be redrilled without ruining the ball??? and does my finger holes need to be over to the right farther to get a good hook out of the ball the way I throw it??

Well I have my TI drilled like this and it hooks a ton. I had to polish it to tame it down a little.

Getyaweightup i see you have your ball drilled for earlier rolling reactions kinda looks like layout 2E, my TI is drilled like layout 2L and it hooks great on drier lanes, but I think I need to get the ball plugged and have it drilled with layout 1L or 1E to get it to hook on heavy oil!!  I don't generate much rpm on my release, that's the other problem I have. I guess I just throw like a geezer!!!

If you're throwing it up the first arrow, there's a chance you're starting it right in the dry, depending on the pattern your center lays out.  This could cause a ball like the Total to burn up.  You might want to look at something pearlized or just with more length for that kind of line.  I've also heard some grumblings from people regarding the Octane coverstock used on the Total and Radical.  (Also keep in mind MANY considered the Radical a dud!)

If this is true of course, it contravenes a number of the league's by-laws, and article 27 of the league...

My bad, must like the Absolute, it just doesn't LOOK like a pearl!  Still, though, from what I understand it's a pretty strong ball and could burn up, pearl or no pearl.
