which span/pitch do you prefer?
« on: March 03, 2007, 12:04:49 AM »
Do you guys prefer a longer span with my reverse pitch of the fingers?  Or do you prefer a shorter span with less reverse pitch of the fingers

Right now I have a shorter span with forward pitch in the fingers and thumb.  I think I'm going to lengthen my span the next time.  Should I adjust the pitches and take out some forward when lengthening?

Shorter w/ some forward.  Allows multiple releases.  Longer spans w/ reverse don't allow as much versatility for me.  I tend to get to much axis rotation and can't stay under it as well with longer and reverse too one dimensional.  Also, less wear on hand and better fit overall.

I use a relaxed grip, not short.  I have 1/2 reverse on the fingers, and have used as much as 1".  Not much reverse with my thumb.  1/8.  The shorter span with less reverse hurts my wrist and forearm.  Comes off my thumb too fast, gotta squeeze too much.  Spans that are too long, can lock you in the ball.  Short just doesn't feel good, hurts my arm.  Everyone is different.

Relaxed span.
1/8 forward in thumb to eliminate the need to squeeze.
1/4 forward in fingers due to powerlifts.

I use more of a longer span and reverse in the fingers.  The shorter spans make me grab the ball.

I am from old school I like a stretched span with alot of reverse 5/8 reverse to be exact in the thumb with the fingers pitched in towards the palm.
I have tried a shorter more relaxed span and like a couple of others have stated after a few frames my wrist and fingers start to hurt.Like was also stated everyone is different.

I use 0 in my fingers and 1/2 right in my ring, my thumb is 1/8 reverse and 0 side. I might try going forward in my thumb one of these days to see if I can not hang.
