urathane thumb slugs....

was wondering are there any advantages to using urathane thumb slugs as apposed to just having the ball plugged and redrilled...Thanx in advance

Feel, nothing more.

I used to use a slug, went 'bare ball' either plugged or not and I prefer the 'bare ball' feel.

If you reslug, your span or pitch change must fall within the new slug.  Otherwise you'll have a sharp edge where the slug/ball meet.  --  JohnP
