Noize question
« on: August 21, 2008, 01:48:12 PM »
I just bought a Columbia Noize. It is drilled pin down roughly 5 x 3. It has a small weight hole. The problem is I am clipping the middle finger at times. Is there a way to change this? Can I make the weight hole larger to move it away from the fingers some?

Where is the weight hole in relation to the grip center?

The center of the weight hole is roughly 4 1/2 inches right and an inch down from grip center. It is roughly an 1 1/4 deep I would say and it is like the size of a size 9 ring??

When I had it last checked it was 4 9/16 over 3/8 up. However, that was a little while back. Since then I found that my span was too short which was making me come around the ball too much. So, I have since made my span longer which has resulted in me being a little more up the back which I would bet also changed my PAP some. I'll try to figure it out real quick if I can without a spinner from the initial track line.

ok.  cause i'm thinking that you might have a flare increasing hole that is causing the flare to clip the middle finger

Well I don't know how accurate this is but I got 4 1/4 over 1/8 up. This might not be exactly right but I would say it is pretty close. I am at home so it is hard to check it 100% but I would say that is fairly close within a 1/4 inch. I can get it rechecked when I go back to the bowling alley. I might make it there tonight so hopefully I'll get a chance to check it. The weight was actually really close to being on my PAP if I did it correctly. It was just a little below it.

I also noticed that if I did noticeably clip the finger hole where I could hear it thump a couple times then the ball seemed to not want to start up and would not recover. If I couldn't hear nothing the ball rolled great.

Being that close to my PAP it shouldn't be a flare increasing weight tho should it? I guess I should plug the weight hole and move it just left or a little up too?
