Get freaky on the lanes with the DV8 Freakshow Solid bowling ball. This ball offers an aggressive hooking motion at a value price. This motion is created by pairing the Low RG/High Differential symmetric core with DV8's Class 8 Solid Reactive coverstock. This combination provides traction on medium oil conditions which creates a strong continuous backend reaction.

DV8 Freakshow Solid
55x4.5x45

The Freakshow Solid is exactly what I was hoping for in this line. The Freakshow Pearl has been a huge hit and I was counting the days until the Solid was announced. The Freakshow Solid is a beast of a ball. More traction in oil and strong overall ball motion and performance at a great price point. This one blends out the wet/dry house patterns and gives me a big, consistent, hook shape. On flatter tournament patterns, the big hooking, aggressive, balls tend to dig a ditch to quick, losing reaction, and really change the pattern fast. The Freakshow Solid gives me enough of the midlane read without bogging down and losing shape. Plus, with the blue/orange colors in the cover, I look like I have a 500+ rev rate.

Likes:this ball has been amazing for me, I got this ball as a go to ball after the lanes start to breakdown but I still want a smooth reaction. This ball is all that and more, at 1000 it handles a decent amount of oil, nice fit below my Radical Fix. I took the surface to 4000 and it is great when the backends are snappy and you want something to read the lane smoother. great benchmark ball especially for THS

Dislikes: nothing

Its back again, the best bang for your buck, however this time its solid. I have both the freakshows laid out the same. The solid picks up a good 3ft sooner for me in the mids and is more angular then the skid snap of the pearl. IMHO the freakshows have the biggest move off the friction for me in the DV8 line. So if your looking for a great rolling solid with some backend and are not looking at breaking the bank, then look no further. FREAKSHOW SOLID IS THE BALL!!!

Drilled 2 Freakshow Solids.  Both are pin up, one is 4.5" to my axis (over ring finger) and the other 5.5" to my axis (over middle finger).
The 4.5 pin is my short pattern/fresh killer.  Its box 1500 grit creates early traction with the lane, revs up quickly and rolls off the backend.  It has been particularly effective on fresh patterns where the backends are extra crispy and has been a godsend for game 1 on the 36' Challenge pattern in our scratch league.  What I like most about this ball is how I don't get punished when I get this ball right early on short or even on an overwalled house pattern.  The Freakshow Solid refuses to jerk off the spot, leaving me makeable spares and maximizing my pocket % by providing me with some very safe angles.  This ball will definitely be coming with me to Vegas to use on fresh at USBC's this spring and is a must in my bag for patterns under 40' or houses with crispy backends.

Once the lanes start to transition a little bit, I have my 5.5" pin Freakshow Solid at 4k.  This ball is a nice benchmark piece that gives me a very comfortable reaction on a variety of patterns.  It is a little cleaner and saves a little more energy than my 4.5", allowing me to chase the pattern in a little more while being less concerned about leaving flat 10's.  This ball has taken the spot of my pin up Diva Divine in my bag and is going to be a welcome addition to my tournament arsenal.

Compared to other balls in the Brunswick family, I see the Freakshow Solid as being most similar to the Marauder Madness or a heavily sanded Vintage Danger Zone.  The Freakshow Solid is noticeably earlier/stronger than the Pearl, but would provide a very safe 1-2 punch for league purposes.  I recommend the Freakshow Solid for bowlers looking for a ball that provides an early, rolly and safe motion for fresh conditions.

I have this ball drilled pin under middle finger and out of the box surface.  It rolls very true. picks up in the midlane, and I'm impressed with how hard it hits.  The first time I took it to the lanes after being drilled I threw an 8 bagger.  Since then it continues to impress.

A nice choice if you're looking for a solid symmetric at an attractive price.  This ball can easily be the first choice out of your bag, especially when the back ends are crisp on fresh oil.  You can throw this ball on most conditions, it's extremely versatile. A must for every arsenal.

Likes: The Freakshow Solid is a big seller in my shop for bowlers looking for more hook on a budget.   For me this ball is about an arrow more over all hook than the freakshow pearl.  This is a ball that I put in my arsenal to bridge the gap between my danger zone and my mastermind strategy

Dislikes: The Freakshow solid needs head oil...  its not a good fit for broken down oil patterns

This ball is very smooth and has a continuous ball motion from start to finish. Great for medium to heavy. I like the fact that it's a solid but still gets down the lane with no problem. DV8 has been producing some great equipment over the past few years. This is a great ball for league and tournaments. LANE CONDITION
