LANE CONDITION

Length: 36 ft. Buffed to 40

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): THS

COMMENTS

About me, I average between 231 and 237 in 3 different houses. I have close to a 350 rev rate, and I consistently throw the ball between 16.8 and 17.2 mph.

First, before I get to anything technical, the look of this ball is incredible. The color of the green is extremely bright and entertaining. I was asked at least 4 times what ball that was before I even threw one shot last night.

I have this ball drilled with the pin right above the fingers in the middle of the bridge.

This is the best ball I have seen in years as far as combining good control with a hard hit. This ball is not extremely angular, but it always clears the heads and destroys the pins. The ball is a great answer for dry lanes. My personal favorite attribute of the ball, though, is its forgiveness. I know I was bowling on a relatively easy house shot, but this ball gave me a little room wide and a little room to pull. For me, its all about having the most room to miss and still strike, and the DV8 Green Misfit definitely helps you in this area of the game.

Thanks DV8. This ball is fantastic

The Misfit is so much more than an entry level ball.  While it is listed as the entry level ball for the DV8 brand, this ball performs better than many mid-range balls I have thrown from other companies.  The ball packs an abundance of performance.  My strongest drilled Misfit is quickly becoming my favorite ball.  When this ball starts to make its move, it does not quit.  I can play from the deepest angles on the lane and the ball rolls through the 8 pin every single time.  Being a high speed player I usually have a hard time getting a ball to go this far down the lane and still make the strong angular move this ball makes.  It is amazing how this ball goes through the pins.  On a fresh THS this ball has slightly too much push, but when the shot breaks down this ball has no problems.  I can see this ball being my go to ball on some lower volume, longer sport patterns.

Likes: The ball motion through the pins that this ball creates.  And the amazing Lime Green and White color!

Dislikes: NONE!

This in my opinion is the coolest of the 3 colors! The Misfit is the best bang for your buck at the $120-$130 price point! I Have one drilled pin above my bridge with a small shift and no hole and I have one Rico'd (pin in palm, CG kicked 45 degrees with a hole where the mass bias should be). They go through the pins like a $220-$230 bowling balls! Love them!

Likes:The Misfit is probably the hardest hitting best rolling Entry Level ball on the market. It has tremendous hitting power and a very predictable breakpoint shape.
have drilled 2 of these on pin down below my middle finger with the cg an inch from my axis point  and p4 weight hole to get the ball to roll a touch stronger and smooth out the dry. The second is a pin up above my RING finger stacked layout cg in palm of my hand no weight hole. This one rolls great on a broken down or light volume house shot when everything else in your bag is hooking too much or if you just want to go straighter up the boards. They are also extremely good on wet /dry house patterns. By no means do these balls hit like an entry level ball. You won't be disappointed !!! Already have (2) 300 games with this ball

WARNING : THIS BALL IS EXTREMELY SEXY!!!!

I am just getting back into bowling after a 10 year off period. This is my first new ball in 10 years, lol. I don't have any of my old equipment. I have had good results with Brunswick in the past so I decided to give the DV8 Misfit a try. I use a 2-finger release with about 450-500 revs, averaged in the high 220s, but am very versatile and can swing it or play straight up the gutter. I drilled the Misfit with the Pin about 2in right of my ring finger and the CG directly in the center of my span. This balls hooks more then I expected. Its VERY agressive on the backends. I tried it at 2 different houses and averaged about 218 for 6 games, not bad 1st time throwing resin in 10 years! (I used a house ball the 2 weeks before getting the Misfit) I don't think this would be a good ball for oily lanes but as long as there is some dry area for it to hit it will snap back. I plan on getting a Hell Raiser Revenge for oily lanes.

COMMENTS

The Misfit is one of the most reactive and responsive entry level performance balls I have thrown to date.  I own the green one.  Prior to throwing exclusively DV8, I threw Brunswick and this ball for me is definitely comparable to the Karma Series, but more angular.   Particularly, the Purple/Pink Karma.  Each year, we drill up a couple new balls specifically for Nationals and these tend to be the balls that will make or break your tournament.  Maybe not so much anymore with fresh oil being applied to each squad, but in years past, these balls designed to store store store and store energy were amazing when the heads of the lanes get french fried.

This ball for me has been great for late league sessions.  It gets downlane with ease, stores a bunch of energy, and makes a very angular turn downlane.  Again, as the heads burnout, this increases the predictibility of the balls reaction and it's likely at it's best when the heads and middles are well tracked up so it can settle down the backend reaction.

This ball is a house shot monster and don't let the entry level price fool you because it can definitely cover some boards.  This ball is great for those high rev guys who need a piece to get down lane and recover.

This ball is one of the least aggressive in the DV8 lineup and would be a good stepdown if the lanes don't have enough oil to contain the Marauder.  I have also found this ball to be a gem playing up the boards.
