Drilled My Rumor 45x5x40 used this on the NEW Cheetah pattern were the volume is a little more than the one were it bounced off the gutter. I went 20-10 and the ball recovered well, 5 and right was out of play. My rev rate is 389 ball speed 15.7. Oh a THS ball recovered quickly but not hard. Going to knock the Factory polish off to see if I can get it start up a little earlier, both THS and Cheetah left me Flat 10's..

I have what you would call just a standard high pin drilling on my DV8 Rumor. CG about an inch below the ring finger and pin about an inch above the ring finger. This is a great ball to be the first out of the bag. It is a great ball for medium to slightly dry lanes, and you'll know from the first good shot you make where the lanes are going to take you. This is a good consistent ball the gets through the heads easily, but it hooks early enough to maintain good control. It is very controllable on the back of the lanes, and it drives through the pins very well. It keeps them nice and low, and I get a good bit of side to side action on light hits as well. If someone is looking for a good bench mark ball, look no further because DV8 has the best with the Rumor.

The DV8 Rumor is a great ball for those medium oil conditions. It's great step down ball when your heavy oil equipment starts to hook to early, the Rumor will give you that little extra length that you are looking for when your heavy oil equipment was starting to rev up too quick and you won't loose any hitting power either! This ball hits like bricks!
The DV8 Rumor is a great ball if you are looking for that go-to ball in your arsenal, or if you are a beginner bowler looking for something that stands out against the rest, this is your ball!

DV8 Rumor

55x5x25

I drilled the Rumor with a layout I like a lot on symmetrical balls. The Rumor is a unique ball and one I am damn sure happy I have in my bag. The Rumor is a medium RG (2.534) medium differential (0.048) symmetrical pearl.  One would “assume” that this ball is going to be length/flip. Just like the saying about assumptions goes… I was wrong. The Rumor is more of a control pearl. It can make big moves if you want it to, but it does its best work under a cloak of deception. This ball would be perfect as a go to ball on over blocked house shots where the outside is crispier than KFC original recipe and the middle part of the lane is wetter than Sea world.  The Rumor helps me control the wet/dry without losing carry at the pocket. Too often on typical house shots, you pay maximum penalty from over/under reactions, but the Rumor helps keep you in the game. I, personally, like to keep mine at 500/1500 Siaair as I like to keep my surface prep very simple and more repeatable.

COMMENTS

The DV8 Rumor is a dream come true.  They brought back one of my favorite core, the Meanstreak Brawler core and wrapped it with a strong pearl coverstock.  I drilled mine just like my Vintage Inferno, the Rumor is about 2 feet cleaner and slower roll than the Inferno on the backend.  This ball is a complete game changer in my arsenal.

Here is the new serie in remplacement of the Deviant serie, the Rumor.  The Rumor features the new Rumor medium RG core abs the new deception pearl coverstock.  The ball is designed for medium oil lane conditions.

I drilled mine with a pin up 70x4”x40.  Because of the medium RG core, the ball gives an heavy roll in the midlane.  The reaction and the colors of the ball reminds me one of my favorite ball, the Yeti Untamed.  I really like that king of reaction because it controls the backend and the reaction is easier to predict.  On the lanes, I play the Rumor 2 boards right with my feet and 1 board right with my eyes of the Creed.  The reason is the  coverstock of the Creed that is stronger and has more backend.  Compared to the freakshow flip, I play the Rumor one board with my feet and one board with me eye left.  Compared to the Black Quantum, I play the Rumor in the same area.  The difference is in the shape.  The Rumor rolls earlier and is more continuous in the back end.  When the Black Quantum reacts too strong an leaves 4 pin, I just switch to the Rumor and I stand at the same place and I hit the pocket.

If you have more speed, you can pad the ball with a 2000 or a 1000 grit abralon and the ball will offer you more roll in the midlane.  You’ll be able to use it on heavier or longer partern.  Because the medium RG core, the ball will always gives you an heavy roll in the midlane and a controllable backend.

To conclude, if you wanna have a really controllable and strong pearl ball, the Rumor is your ball of choice.
