The first Thug Life I drilled I put the Pin just above my Ring finger and stacked the CG. The Pin is 2-3". The surface is out of the box finish.  I have used this ball on the Kegel High Way to Hell, and also USBC Blue 2.  What I really love about the Thug Life is on both patterns I was able to play outside like 5 and out, or when I moved inside and played 15 I was able and did not have any problem with losing carry. I just change hand positions for where I am playing and this is huge because this ball is very Versatile and I can use this ball on multiple lane conditions and this is also great because I don't have to have so many balls in my bag. The Thug Life and the Deviant is a really good 1-2 punch. When the Thug life is going down too long or breaking to much I can go to the Deviant and it keeps me in the same ballpark and the line I am playing.  DV8 Thug Line has been a big part of my game from the Thug to now the Thug Life. I have loved all the Thug's. The Thug Life with its Composite Technology cover stock is great on this ball for being a Pearl Cover. The Thug Life let me get left and close my angles a little bit of where I usually start with my Thug Unruly and Thug Corrupt. Thug Life was real clean through the front of the lane which surprised me. It still had that strong mid lane roll but when it hit the break point and made that hard move to the pocket the ball didn't slow down or read early like the Unruly, and  It just kept going through the pins. Another thing that I really like about the Thug life if I missed left a little it recovered very nicely. If I missed right a little the ball just set up in the oil and never crossed, and It held pocket. The comparison to the Thug Corrupt, the Thug life is 3-4 feet longer, and more angular. Comparison to the Vandal, The Thug life is 2 Feet shorter, and 3-4 boards sharper off the break point. These new Composite covers are so amazingly strong and consistent. I strongly suggest those who are looking for a strong consistent ball that is clean in the front, strong angle off the break point and hits hard, this ball is a must for you. The Thug Life is great on THS, and also Medium to Oily Lane Conditions. Get your Thug Life today at your Local Pro Shop!  #dv8bowling #dv8thuglife

So let's talk about the thug life. This is the first time I didn't like something on my first try. So let's go through my first thug life and my second one.The first one I drilled was a 25 * 4 * 35 So this is a layout I absolutely loved for my thug unruly. SO I went to well once more. This time I had to drill
a 1' hole up on my VAL which I didn't need before. Well it made all the difference. It was pretty awful so as always be aware of how you drill something.

So let's move on from that result. My second thug life was a completely different story. I drilled it 70 * 5 * 30 and holy hell this ball hooks a lot.
Let's talk for a second on what kind of hook this ball has. This ball is not the oil friendly beast the unruly or the corrupt are. This ball is the long
and strong hockey stick reaction. When you say to your proshop that you want big backends. This ball should be the top of the list! Never tried DV8?
Give this ball a real hard look!

Look me up on the following link and feel free to ask me any questions I love talking bowling with strangers!

At 55x5x30 I drilled my Thug Life identical to my Thug Corrupt, I really like my Thug Corrupt and was hoping to get a ball that compliments it.  The Thug Life does just that, it provides the technology of a top end asymmetric ball (composite coverstock technology and asymmetric core), without requiring the high volume of oil necessary for most asymmetric balls these days.  The Thug Life clears the heads easier than the Thug Corrupt, but still creates the same great midlane roll and strength off the corner.  Compared to a Vandal with the same layout, the Thug Life is about 3 feet earlier and 3-4 boards stronger.  The Thug Life will be a great option for anyone who bowls in a house that doesn’t put out a ton of oil, or a low rev or high speed bowler that is looking for more of a skid flip motion, but needs help getting the ball around the corner.

The Thug Life is a great ball! I drilled mine 45x4.25x30 and left it box finish. This ball is comparable to the Unruly but, with more backend motion! I have used it on several kegal patterns and house shots and the ball is very predictable on all patterns. The Thug Life is very good for heavy oil and playing multiple angles to the pocket. If you want to play in or out on the lane this ball provides you with all angles to the pocket. I found with this ball that it will corner deeper inside than any other Thug I have thrown! If you want to shoot some big scores get yours today you won’t be disappointed!

This ball is very clean through the fronts with a great controllable motion at the break point and extreme hitting power. I was really surprised how controllable this ball is and also how versatile. This is a must have in the bag.

I drilled the Thug Life up 60 x 4 1/2 x 35...similar to some other balls that I've liked recently.

The Thug Life is positioned between the Thug Corrupt and Vandal. It clears the front of the lane better than the sanded Thug Corrupt, but isn't as clean as the Vandal. The midlane is a heavy roll, and the backend is a strong, hard arc. The Thug Life is 2-3 boards less aggressive than the Corrupt, and about 2-3 boards more hook, with a more rounded shape, than the Vandal.

I can see the Thug Life working well for slower ball speeds or higher rev rates on heavier oil. For those with less hand or higher speed, the Thug life would be a great compliment to the most aggressive ball their bag.

DV8 Thug Life takes the Thug Line to all new levels.  If you loved throwing the Thug Unruly, then the Thug Life will not disappoint at all!   Like the Thug Unruly, this ball will provide any bowler with continuous ball motion, but with more backend reaction, especially on tighter lane conditions.  I absolutely love my Thug Unruly, but this ball is slowly becoming my all-time favorite!   Its versatility on heavy oil and medium conditions makes this ball an absolute must to have in your bag.  .

The Thug Life is able to recover from every angle on fresh oil conditions, while maintaining tremendous ball motion down the lane.  This ball does not lose hitting power from every angle I played with it.  The layout for my Thug Life is very tame, drilling through the Pin for my ring finger with a 1-2” pin.  This layout works exceptionally for me, as I higher rev player.

The Thug Life is just an incredible ball on so many levels; I cannot stop saying enough about it!  I would recommend using this ball on heavy volumes of oil.  For league bowlers, The Thug Life is incredibly versatile and can be drilled so many different ways to ensure the ball is giving you what you are looking for and come to expect from DV8.     I have yet to see any limits of this ball on heavy volumes of oil, from playing down and in to opening the lanes up.  The Thug Life has taken the game to new levels and raised the bar even more so in the industry substantially and will dramatically improve your game.  DV8….GET ONE NOW!

Dv8 Thug Life is the real deal i left mines box finish and went with a pin up layout on this one, i wanted to use mostly for THS which is 42 FT and let me say it a brackets nightmare for the other bowlers . This ball gets through the front part of the lane with no problem but when its feel the dry area of lane that's when it become a thug i feel like i am getting away with murder and getting paid for it but if you looking for something clean through the front and hook on back this your money ball . i havent played with the suface but looking at Ryan throw the thug life in the US Open and winning , it takes that very well also. get to your local proshop and pick this one up today.

After having really good results with my Thug Corrupt I couldn't wait to see what this ball did.  In short, I have never had a ball that snaps out the 10 pin as much as this ball does. I average maybe 2 ten pins in a three game series now I have so many messengers taking it out I feel like I am cheating sometimes. I have had balls that I thought were hard hitters and carried well, but none as well as this ball.

I have this ball drilled with the pin below the bridge and CG stacked directly beneath (I'm right handed). The new DV8 cover technology simply cannot be beat right now. My Thug Life is more smooth off the break, but it finishes through the pins unbelievably well. The pearl cover helps it get through the heads consistently well, but then you see the power of the new composite technology. The ball finishes so well through the pins that your "pocket" almost seems to get bigger. You pay less penalty for shots that aren't as good as you would like. The Thug Life is a great benchmark choice for someone looking to build a good arsenal. This ball will be in my bag for quite some time, and I think everyone should go out and purchase one. Thank you DV8! The Thug life is exceptional.

The Thug Life from DV8 is a perfect compliment to the strong Thug Corrupt. The Thug Life gets down lane better and is about 3 boards less overall hook than the Corrupt but has a stronger move off the dry. I drilled my Thug Life 75x3x25. I love to use this layout to get a little more length on our old wood lanes and a strong motion off the dry. I feel this may be the best Thug to date for the masses. The new Composite Pearl cover gives bowlers length and a consistent, strong, read of the lane, as well as the ability to open the pocket and attack a house pattern with ease. This ball has shelf appeal too. The blue/green/silver Pearl cover looks great in the window and even better from foul line through the pin deck.

Currently I am still working with the surface of this ball as my ball speed hasn't exactly matched up with this ball yet, but what I have found is this ball allows me to be very aggressive with tighter angles down lane. I have mine Pin up with 1000 surface and this seems to blend out the lanes the best for me so far. Not throwing this ball too much on the house shot as it matches up best for me on certain patterns right now. If you are a power player with speed and rev's this could be your next big ball!

COMMENTS

The DV8 Thug Life is the Big brother that has made its way to the Thug Line.  The Thug Life is the strongest and the most flip backend ball in the Thug line and with the Composite Pearl cover, it easily glides through the fronts and retains maximum flip motion in the backend.  If you looking for a strong pearl, the Thug Life is what you need in your arsenal.

Likes: I have been able to work with this ball to be able to see some beautiful movement out of it. On a fresh shot, I am able to start a little further left than I normally would, and still able to get a strong reaction out of the ball, and able to kick out the 10 pin with no issues. When the oil carries down, I can move left, and feel comfortable that the ball will still be kicking out that same 10 pin without any issues.

Dislikes: None.

Pin: 3-4
Layout: 40*4*38 p2

I really didn't like Thug Corrupt... But this ball really gives me life back. I m currently 223 average. Thug Life is a ball that rolls very smooth for me, If I struggle with my dull heavy oil ball, I would switch to this ball before switching to Vandal if the lane breaksdown but it rarely... I would use Thug Life whole 3 games.... I haven't rolled under 600 for while using this ball. Hits very well!

Recommended ball!!!!!

Laid out my Thug Life 45x3.5x45 (leverage) with a P2.  I chose this layout as I didn't want to go pin up and overlap with my Vandal and Einstein which have been excellent pieces in my bag when I get my feet left on med/longer patterns.  The shorter pin layout is based off the layout of my original Thug and is designed to give me a quicker rolling, less flippy option on med/shorter patterns.

The Thug Life gives me enough length to not force me way left, yet gives me a very heavy midlane roll that keeps me away from the sharp angles that can potentially get me into trouble.  The pattern that the Thug Life has shone brightest on was 37' Broadway in our challenge league.  The pattern plays a little on the dry side, but I can find the pocket all night with questionable carry using urethane up 5 or play a baby swing with either my Hooligan Taunt/Solid Rack Attack crossing around 8-9 to 4-5 for a little more risk reward.

The Thug Life gives me the option to step in a few more boards than my other reactives, yet not be concerned if I pitch the ball out into the dry early.  The weak reactives often wiggle and can be speed sensitive once the oil pushes down, yet the stronger cover of my Thug Life gives me a more consistent footprint on the lanes from shot to shot.
With shorter patterns typically being sloped more steeply from front to back, I highly recommend trying a shorter pin layout on a ball such as the Thug Life to give you the option of a swing shot on shorter patterns.
