My Vandal is drilled 60x4.5x40 as the second ball that I would go to on Medium/Heavy lanes once I want to open up my angles.  My goal was to find a ball that I could step down to once my 4” pin up Thug starts rolling too soon, yet be a step stronger than my Divas/Dudes.  The Vandal fit the bill perfectly, giving me that length that I was looking for with more shape down the lane than my pin up Diva (my benchmark).
It is not nearly as skid/flippy as the Ruckus Schizo, but is far more predictable and just has a really nice roll.  If I were to compare its shape and roll, I would best describe it as the roll of my old Hyroad with the midlane traction of my Hell Raiser Terror – and that is a huge compliment.

So far I have used the Vandal on 37’ Kegel Broadway, 39’ ABC Nationals 2003, 45’ Route 66 and a couple of house patterns.  On all 5 patterns I had too much backend motion to maximize my pocket %, but I experienced a disproportionately high number of messengers.   In every outing, the Vandal’s best look was when I was creeping left with my feet and opening my angles through the front part of the lane during games 3-5.  This ball needed that little bit of carrydown to control its downlane motion and thrived the further left I went with my feet, even on the shorter 37’ pattern when I was swinging the ball from 3arrow to the ditch.

The most impressive look I had was in a tournament which I led on the 39’ ABC Nationals 2003 pattern which was a 1.7:1 ratio.  Where my opponents experienced early hook or hang, I was able to step left of everybody with softer speed, creating both recovery and carry where others were leaving 2-10’s.  I am extremely impressed with the Vandal thus far and it immediately became an important piece in my tournament bag!

We heard a lot of hype about this ball and from what I can see it is living up to all the excitement. I drilled mine Pin above middle finger ( Left Handed ) and just love the reaction I get from the Vandal. Very smooth and forgiving on backend I can miss a little at the bottom and ball still recovers and hits hard, also when getting a little bit too much on the ball it will lay off and give you hold in the middle. This will be my next benchmark ball I throw on almost all patterns to see where and what ball to throw.

This ball is absolutely amazing. So clean and smooth through the fronts of the lanes, But maintains the hit power on the back end. This ball is a must have in your bag. good for THS and most sport patterns.

DV8 has come up with a different ball motion that is very consistent that picks up the pattern very easily. It has a violent back end bite that revs up at the end of the pattern that blows threw the pins. This will be the go to ball in every bowlers arsenal.

DV8 describes the Vandal as an All Purpose Motion with Backend Flip on multiple different conditions.
I didn’t know what to expect out of the Vandal.  The Vandal has a new cover technology, and a new core.  So it was going to be a learning curve.  Considering DV8 promoted it as an all purpose motion, I decided to put one of my favorite all purpose layouts in it.
I choose a layout of 50x5.5x70 for my Vandal which usually gives me a great controllable motion on many different patterns.  It picks up early and has a strong arcing motion.
The motion of the Vandal is amazing.  As many others have said, I haven’t seen a motion like this in a very long time, if ever.  This is going to sound counteractive, but it is the best way I can describe the motion.  It is very clean through the front, but reads the front part of the lane very well.  Usually “clean” balls look like they are squirting through the heads, almost hydroplaning, but not the Vandal.  You can tell it is in control of the lane the entire time.  It isn’t so much that it is squirting down the lane, it is more like it is just waiting for the right time to start making it’s move.  It is a very unique motion that I cannot wait to use on a variety of different patterns.
The strength of the Vandal is what surprised me the most.  I don’t usually expect an “all purpose” ball to be able to handle a significant amount of oil.  But the Vandal handled just as much oil as my Thug Corrupt and Radical Guru.
I can’t believe I would ever describe an asymmetric ball as a “benchmark” ball, but that is almost what the Vandal is.  It is going to give you a great read of the lane, on many different patterns, and gives a smooth, controllable, strong motion that is great for seeing the lane.

Ladies and Gentleman… get to know the DV8 Vandal – because it soon will be your best friend.
As a PBA Member and DV8 Staffer, I have had the opportunity to throw the DV8 Vandal for a few weeks now and also help out with “demo events” showcasing the DV8 Vandal.
With the new DV8 Composite Pearl Shell, it is very apparent from the first few times you throw it that this ball is something special.
You have read others say that this is a benchmark ball, here are my words… this will not be your biggest hooking ball, this will not be your least hooking ball, BUT it WILL be the ball you have in your hands most of the time. It is just simply amazing.
With the DV8 Vandal Asymmetric core, the ball is very clean through the front (without leak on oil), reads and recovers consistently in the mids… and then WOW. Strong with control, and it does it time after time.
Heavy oil? The Vandal can handle it. Burned up? It will handle that as well. It is VERY versatile, and you will keep this ball in your hands for a long time. Finally, a ball you can use all night long!
I drilled my DV8 Vandal 65x4.5x45 – and it is THE ball that comes out of the bag first. This new composite shell, combined with the DV8 Vandal core equals a big hit for the DV8 line. I highly recommend the DV8 Vandal for your arsenal.

Bowler Stats:
Speed: 18-19mph
Rev Rate: 400-450rpm
Axis Rotation: Medium
Axis Tilt: Low
Ball Layout: 45 by 5” by 50 with P2 hole
The Vandal reminds me a lot of what I first saw in the Wicked Siege and the Aura (two of my favorite asymmetricals of all time), only a bit stronger downlane.  Just a touch of midlane read to control the overall reaction before cutting loose on the backends. While I’ve had success with DV8 asymmetrics in the past, the Vandal is in a class all its own. Between the new Vandal core and the new composite pearl coverstock, DV8 really concocted something special. Within the first 10 days of throwing it I’ve had a 300 in tournament play, an 810 in league, and also went 259-279 the last two qualifying games to make a regional cut on Scorpion. The only DV8 ball that really comes close enough to compare would be the old Hell Raiser Terror (which received a bunch of praise). For most bowlers, I could easily see this being the first ball out of the bag in league play. Mine is absolutely a house shot killer. With my low tilt and only medium axis rotation, I obviously prefer playing a little straighter than others with the same speed and rev rate. However it is very easy for me to still carry the corner pins even when moving past 4th arrow with the Vandal. While this ball is a must for the next league season, I believe that many players would match up with this ball on medium to longer sport patterns as some friction is created. Without a doubt I can say that if you’ve been looking at trying DV8, this is absolutely the first ball to try. If you’re a long-time DV8 fan, the Vandal will give you a look that you’ve never seen before.

The new DV8 Vandal offers an all new, low RG, asymmetric core, paired with the new Composite Pearl coverstock. This new ball offers a ball motion that I haven't seen in a while. It is a ball motion that everyone wants and should have in their bag. Finished at 500/Royal Compound, you get a ball that will clear the heads well but rev up and have the perfect amount of midlane read and continuation. I drilled my Vandal 35x5x35 with no hole. I was eager to see this ball roll and decided to try it during our final weeks of summer sport league. I have used the Vandal on 2 different oil patterns; 43ft heavier volume THS and 40ft US Open.

U.S. Open pattern- On the fresh, the Vandal wasn't quite the look. I started with a Diva Divine, pin down and sanded to 1000 Siaair. As the block went on, the Divine started to hang corners due to the rough surface, and I needed to open up the lane. The Vandal was the perfect choice. I'm sure cover stock adjustments would allow me to use the Vandal right off the bat, but with how fantastic the ball motion was at stock surface, why mess with such a good thing? The Vandal allowed me to stay confident and relaxed on the demanding pattern.

43ft THS- On this pattern, the Vandal was able to shine from start to finish. I was able to attack from multiple angles and split the 8-9 with ease. The Vandal will allow you to exploit the free hook to the outside and not squirt in oil. The new Composite Pearl cover is consistent from shot to shot, which allows you to keep it out of the bag and in your hands longer.

The new Vandal is going to be a big release for DV8. The way it seems to hold and read the lane is something special. It's hard to explain. Others have said it in their reviews, and they are spot on with it. The Vandal seems to be reading the lane as soon as you release it. It's strong, forgiving and consistent.

I have to agree with everyone that has thrown this ball. It is something new with its asymmetric core and composite pearl cover stock that makes its a perfect combination. This ball hits like a truck. I currently have one drilled pin up above the ring finger and let me tell you its ridiculously clean and can be thrown on pretty much anything. I used many angles on a normal house shot and it still drives. If you haven't gotten one in your yet then your're missing out.

The best thing about this ball is that this motion is not in the DV8 line with any other ball, and It's incredible. The two best things about the Vandal are its carry and consistency. I've bowled with this on a variety of conditions, and rarely have I run across a condition where it did't carry well. It is extremely continuous through the pins and makes a really nice hard turn off the breakpoint. If you throw the Vandal well, you will bowl big scores.

I was really excited to get this ball and man it didn't disappoint! The Vandal is clean through the heads with a strong mid lane read and splits the 8-9 like nothing I have ever thrown. This ball gives me a ball motion I didn't have in my bag and will be my bench mark ball this upcoming season. The new cover stock is amazing!

Hi My name is Doug Cutler and I am a DV8 Regional Staffer and I am left handed and I throw between 15-16mph.  The drilling I did on my first Vandal,I put the the Pin above my ring finger with the CG stacked and the surface out of the box. The pin is 3-4".  All I can say about the Vandal is "WOW". The strength of the Vandal is what surprised me the most.  I don’t usually expect an “all purpose” ball to be able to handle a significant amount of oil.  But the Vandal handled just as much oil as my Thug Corrupt. I believe right now the  Vandal is going to be my "Benchmark" ball. One last thing I like about the Vandal is If I miss a little at the bottom and ball still recovers and hits hard, also when getting a little bit too much on the ball it will lay off and give you hold in the middle. This is a ball that you can use on multiple lane conditions and that is special because you will not need many balls in your bag because just about any condition you will be able to use the Vandal. I have used the Vandal on Cheetah, THS, Shark, and Scorpion.  DV8 has hit a home run with the Vandal.  You are going to need this ball in your bag, and I am going to drill a couple more and I promise you will not be disappointed with the Vandal.  TONIGHT WE BOWL! #dv8bowling, #dv8vandal

My name is Bryan L. Williams and I am a PBA Member and DV8 Regional Pro Staffer. The Vandal is an absolutely UNBELIEVEABLE ball!  The ball motion is absolutely amazing!
Many bowlers have already said it, so I might as well join them…I have never seen ball motion like this in a very long time, possibly not ever!  The best way to describe its ball motion is that it is ultra clean through the front part of the lanes, unlike any ball I have ever thrown.  The most amazing aspect of this ball is that it maintains its motion at the break point and through the pins, with predictability like I have never seen in any bowling ball to date.  It’s backend motion is very consistent and not skid/flippy, like many asymmetrical balls can be.  Additionally, this ball can be used on virtually every condition you can imagine, and still roll consistently!  The layout on my ball is the Pin just above and to the right of my ring finger with the CG stacked and the surface out of the box. It has a pin of 3-4".
This is the ONE BALL YOU MUST HAVE IN YOUR BAG!  As a professional bowler, this is a ball that can be altered to work on ANY condition and you will be able to score.  DV8 has done it again with the creation of the DV8 Vandal. If you don’t have one by now, you are just not bowling!!! DV8…Tonight We Bowl! www.dv8bowling.com; #dv8bowling

– Drilled 40 x 5 x 70
DV8 made the announcement that the developed a new formula for the Vandal. Right out of the box, you can smell the difference. Exactly what is that smell? Absolute success! The Vandal is the ball that will stand against that other companies tried and true skid/flip option and make them look silly.
