I told my proshop to order me a Hellraiser Revenge when they come out but have heard from a few that they lose reaction very quickly. Anyone having this problem. I don't know what it is about some of these balls but some of them just die. I got a Columbia Ranson Demand that lost about 75% of it's reaction after 6 games. (works great for 10 pins though). Afterwards I purchased a Coulubia Omen that after 20 games reacts the same or even better than new. So I'm not knocking a certain company it just seems to be certain balls seem to die quickly. I like 900 Global and have great luck with their balls but my Bank quit hooking after about 10 games or so. I would like to mention that I have a ball spinner and abralon pads and have tried cleaning,polishing,and sanding surfaces with not much help.

i heard the hell raisers lose reaction as soon as you drill holes in em lawllll

I think it just depends on certain balls that come out. I throw a mixed arsenal of Storm, Roto Grip, Track, and Ebonite. My Rising Star, Nomad Dagger, 919C and Vital Energy just don't quit at all. However, my Anarchy has needed more attention since it does seem to lose its reaction quicker with the pearl cover. This means doing the surface prep and keeping it polished more often to keep it up. Same with my VG Nano where I have to resurface and deep clean it more often as well.

However, one of the balls that a lot of Storm people did not care for was the Invasion. That ball died very quickly for a lot of people. Less than a year later, Storm announced the VG Nano. I don't think that R3X Solid cover on the Invasion has been used again here in the states since.

If you buy hook monsters you will need to do a good job of maintaining surface prep for desired reaction. Every proshop across the country gets this complaint about what ever hook monster someone buys because it doesn't hook off their hand after X amount of games. More maintenance is required to keep the ball having the desired reaction.

I just hosted a demo at Sunset Station with DV8 and Brunswick balls. These DV8 balls were drilled in the summer time and have countless games on them. We have not rejuvenated, or hit the surface on any of these balls. They all reacted just how I remember, and were super strong on the backend.

This is the first I've heard anyone say our bowling balls lose reaction. I drilled a Hell Raiser for myself a few months ago and that is my go-to ball for any kind of volume. I have issues when the lanes break down, but then I just switch to a Too Reckless or Nexus Pearl.

+1. My Hell Raiser is still OOB and it keeps hooking like a beast. I keep it thoroughly clean, though, since the cover absorbs lane conditioner quickly and the stuff (at least the OOB surface) attracts dirt and grime like nothing I have seen before.

What haveyou been using to clean it with. Do you resand itor do you use something like Clean and Dull?

I use a mix of a local windex variant (80%), a splash of kitchen degreaser (5%) and another splash of a multi-purpose cleaner (15%) for everyday cleaning. I spray it onto the ball, let it "work" 30 sec., and wipe the ball with clean cotton or paper towel.

No special treatment for the Hell Raiser, I just found that it really needs quick and continuous cleaning. And so far it ssems to pay out.

When belt marks or other persistent stuff remains, I use Lanemasters' cleaner. I do nothing about the surface, like sanding or scuffing. No need for that so far.
