Title: does anyone deal with this with dv8?
Post by: Joker-1 on November 06, 2014, 02:18:58 PM
Ive thrown dv8 exclusively for about a year now. Lots of different motions and whatnot with the ball, but lately I've been seeing a lot of deflection with the dv8 equipment like my diva, brutal, ect. All my equipment are polished but to me it seems weird with the mass amount of deflection.

Have you been cleaning your gear? I know my DV8 stuff doesnt show massive amounts of deflection. Might be time to get some resurfacing and or oil removal done. Have to rotate the tires sometimes to make sure they have enough texture to do the their job properly

If you use dv8 exclusively, maybe the problem is with you. Perhaps something in your delivery has changed recently.

I always do clean my equipment right after league or practice games and every 20-30ish games ill redo the surface and every 60 games ill do a complete resurface and oil extraction, but still seems to deflect quiet a lot  :-\

its def possible its me as well, I could have just subconsciously changed something with my hand release, id have to double check

A slight possibility is that they have changed either the amount of oil being put out OR the colder weather affected the oil such that it appears "more oily". Less oil might mean the balls are using up too much energy in the midlane; more oily means the balls aren't grabbing the lane early enough. Both situations reduce the power of the ball at the pocket.

Don't be afraid to adjust the surfaces of your balls.  Most of my balls are slightly rougher now than when they were in box.
