Title: Dude or Grip It?
Post by: DrBob806 on January 10, 2014, 10:12:01 AM
I've never rolled DV8 stuff, but I'm interested in the new Dude ball by DV8. Can anybody chime in on these 2 balls I'm considering? Basically just looking to get a new toy for THS & these 2 caught my eye. Thanks.

IMO, Grip It is going to be stronger earlier. Heard great things about it, and like the movement of the Dude as well.

Dude is definitely weaker than the Grip/It. All depends on what you want

If you are looking for a smooth predictable ball motion, then go with the DV8 Dude. It is a versatile ball that doesn't have the hockey stick type of reaction but a smooth arcing motion. The Dude would be a good ball for a THS and is made for medium oil conditions.

The Dude is a fantastic ball for staying near the track as the lanes are starting to dry up.  It gets through the fronts better than any other DV8 ball and is very smooth off the back.

For those of you who have the Dude.....how much dry can this ball handle?  Specifically when the heads are going fast and when the midlane is scorched and really really hooking

I currently have a MoRich MoJave that is getting a bit old and worn but I'm not sure if the Dude is quite that weak.  If the layout was mild and to compliment it with a say.........used 2000 plus UFO polish, will it still be too much on toastier conditions?
