dv8 4 ball review
« on: February 12, 2014, 07:04:36 PM »
My review of each ball in my arsenal . Dv8 nightmare . .
I have the nightmare at 1000abr. This is my heavy oil ball . For a strong ball its very clean through the front and is somewhat angular compared to a lot if heavy oil balls I have used. Much longer and more back end than the freight train for example . Love the nightmare for heavier flat patterns also . Drilled pin one inch over ring . Cg a touch negative .right handed bowler.15-16mph 300-320 rev.

Hr terror...
My terror is pin in ring with cg also negative . This is the smoothest and most predictable  ball I have used. Also crushes the pocket. This is my favorite ball. This needs oil though. Not a ton necessarily. I can use this on anything from very heavy to medium oil. Also good on flat patterns. Gives u many options due to smoothness. Get it out to the dry and it will break strong. This is at oob polish surface .
Dude...
Drilled pin in ring with cg straight down . 4000abralon. Also smooth but a touch more angular and longer than hr terror. Also better for when terror is hooking a little early or too much . House shot killer. Great ball . I can use this on heavy oil but it really performs on medium oil .

Misfit red ora ge

Drilled pin just over ring and cg negative . Oob polish. Weakest ball for dry and broken down lanes. If there is heavier oil I.must play the edge to get some friction. But I don't use it on fresh. When lanes break down and I'm getting too left or out of control with other balls I bring this out and can play wherever . Huge length and a quick but not too angular move.

Overall I chose to stick with dv8 because because the balls are so smooth and predictable and whenever they hit the pocket it smashes . I have not used any Brunswick or radical but if they are similar to their dv8 brothers I'm sure i will love them too. The dude oob was slightly too angular so I took it to 4000g and now its much more versatile. And predictable
I'd like some feedback on other dv8 balls as well as those who use these balls. Also how does some of the dv8 balls compare to the radical balls? I have heard nothing but good about the radical balls

I saw a terror on here for a good price.  Do u think it would be a good heavy oil ball?  I need something stronger than my diva.  I go terror or look for a endless?

Terror and diva are similar. But depending on your release I bet you could surface change the terror and do great on oil. Of course the endless may be stronger but to answer your question simply. Yes it would make a good heavy oil ball with 1000abralon and especially for a rev dominant bowler . But statistically speaking....its similar to the diva
You can drill it strong and sand it....and there you go

Great reviews!  Dv8 Brunswick and radical have such great equipment, one can go broke getting all the best balls.  For me personally what I see is the midline of dv8 being unmatched anywhere (diva, diva pearl , mutiny, dude and misfits). These balls are my mainstay in my bag.  The high end stuff is awesome but more conditional for me personally.  I've had amazing reactions with the reax line, and it seems they hook a bit more down lane than the high end dv8.  The New Brunswick stuff is amazing plain and simple.  The mastermind, genius and lt48 are probably the best reactions from Brunswick I've ever seen.

I qgree. I do best with middle performace balls. My speed and rev rate keeps the dude and misfit in my bag. Of course I will own a heavy oil ball. Everyone needs one. But I use midddle balls more often. Exwmple...if I wwnted to . I coukd use thr dude or terror on fresh to broekn down and everything in between . I could survive with one ball for everythig with dv8s middle sekection
