« on: March 08, 2013, 12:15:53 PM »
I just purchased my first dv8, the misfit pearl. I bowl on med to light conditions, prefer the outside and in shot, 2nd arrow. I have med speed, and med revs. I have seen this ball in action, and it went straight, hit the break and then just crushed the pocket.  Can't wait to throw it monday night.
my arsenal:
motiv primal tv4
motiv recon rx1 silver pearl
dv8 misfit pearl.

I just purchased my diva and threw it wed. during league.  This ball is a tank.  due to lack of oil, was playing 17-5 at about 18 mph.  This ball just does not quit.
Shot 237 first game with a stone 8 and ringing 7 as my results for burying the pocket.
Had to switch last 2 games dues to lack of oil.
This ball is a must have!!!  Now i need to change over my older Big B equpiment to new DV8 and i will be all set

I just got my first dv8 as well its the pearl i love it so far. I love the fact that some old guy 3 lanes away actually complained that the ball was distracting him and making him bowl bad. Im the first person in the center to have one as not many people throw dv8 there are a few pink and yellow misfits and a few too reckless's but thats about it.

You are going to love the way this ball rolls. So easy through the heads and a nice smooth recovery down lane.  And the Diva !  All I can say is I love this ball.

I am now a DV8 member too!

I am picking up my new Misfit Pearl tonight after work.  I really have no idea how it will perform except I am sure it will rip the back ends!

I am brand new to the forum and back into bowling after quite a few years.  Yeah I still have an original blue Pearl U2 in my bag along with a "real" Blue Dot.

I threw a few games with the U2 to establish the PAP for my pro shop.  I was throwing the 16lb U2 14 mph along the edge of the house shot around the 15 to 10arrow to swingout at around 7 and leaving the 10 pin about 50% of the time.

My goal with the Misfit is to move inside at least 5 boards with more speed (hopefully around 15mph with 15lb ball).  It appears to be a ball that can be easily altered by surface adjustments.

I'll report back with my findings/comparison once I throw it for a few games.  I may even post a video on youtube!

All I can say is WOW!

I tossed the Misfit Pearl 4 games this evening.  I cannot believe how much oil the thing eats off of the lane.  I threw the U2 a few times and it came back almost dripping, but no visible ring on the Misfit.  I guess the reactives really eat the oil off of the lane, while the urethane drags it down the lane.

The Misfit has so much back end I left a few 9's (righty).  If I threw it outside my line by 2 boards at the arrows it would pop the nose of the head pin.  I had about a 3 board pull area though.  The Misfit seems very speed sensitive - you need to roll it like a machine.  My last 3 games were 190's (open 10th in all - yuck!).

Again, I am just picking up the game after not playing for many years.  Based on my slower ball speed this thing will be the most I can get away with.

I'll post another review after I get it figured out more.

You have to remember there is a HUGE difference in reaction from the urethane era to the reactive era.  It will take you a bit of time to get used to the reaction.  Dont be afraid to ask your proshop guy to smooth the ball out a bit by hitting it with a 4000 abralon pad.  This will take away some of the violent flip on the backend for you.  You'll find you need to stand further left for sure but once the ball consistantly gets to the right, it'll recover all day.  Good luck and let us know if you need any help
