Endless Nightmare Layout
« on: October 27, 2013, 05:01:58 AM »
So I just ordered a 14lb Endless Nightmare. Just can't figure out what layout to use with it. I throw around 13mph with 300rpm. So many different layouts just can't seem to figure out which one will work. I like to play deep into the lane if that helps. Thank you!

Your pro shop should be able to help you out with this. Its much easier to decide on a layout after watching you bowl.  Hopefully you have a qualified professional in your area.  The Endless is a very strong ball!! You won't be disappointed.  Let us know how it works out.  If you don't have anyone to help you, based on your speed and rev rate, you'll want the pin up over your fingers either over your ring finger, or in the middle of the 2 fingers.  Put the MB just to the right of your thumb (assuming you are right handed)

I was recommended a 80x2x30 layout. Will that be pretty strong? He also suggested that it be hit with 4000 so it has a more angular backend with length.

Its hard to tell without watching you bowl my friend.  Do me a favour tho and check out my video comparing 2 layouts on a Brutal Nightmare.  I have a 60x5x70 and an 80x2x50.  You'll see the difference in reaction.  The 80x2x30 for you may work very well on a house shot.  It will blend out the wet/dry very well but will definitely not create alot of angle downlane.  If you're pro shop guy is a trusted professional, then for sure go with what he is recommending.  Heres the link the my site and the video.

With your ball speed and rev rate the 30 degree Val angle will likely make the ball more angular than what you are seeing on his video.

If your intent is to drill a ball for a THS, a weaker drilling like the one suggested will likely give you what you are looking for.

If you want a layout for heavy oil or a medium to heavy sport shot, you may be disappointed. Talk to your driller and he should be able to set the ball up as he has seen you bowl. Also, consider the reaction you are getting from your other balls. If you have a medium to heavy oil ball that gives you the reaction shape you are looking for then lay this ball out similar. If you want earlier roll either increase the pin to pap or decrease the drill angle. Decrease the Val angle if you want a stronger backend reaction.

Based on the specs, this is not the ball to drill for a medium to light THS.

Here is a video. My fundementals need work in this video. Was a month ago. Has improved aince then but you get the idea. I have a difference release now. My goal is just to have the ability to player deeper and still have the ball turn the cornwr hard and still have energy to carry. My current setups ust skid all the way and doesnt do anyrhing.
