First impressions of hellraiser
« on: September 23, 2011, 12:37:44 AM »
So I had been struggling in league the past 2 weeks. Huge puddle in the middle, dry outside. (very black/white). I would either flat 10, 2 pin, or 4 pin. Just could not get the right ball motion to carry.

Drilled up a Hellraiser with the pin below my middle finger, cg in the palm, and mb kicked about 1 and 1/2-2 inches to the right of the thumb.

I am not one to usually brag about how great a ball is before I have actually thrown it more than a few times, and I will try to refrain from that here. BUT it is hard not to talk about how good this ball was last night.

game 1: front 9 then slip on the approach leaving the 2,8. only take the 2 pin for 266 (DUMB!)

game 2: x (hang in the thumb for a 7/) sheet till the 9th frame then 6/x for 256 (terrible shot in the 10th)

game 3: new-ball-idous got to me. (Had to make a move and when I did, I threw 5 really really poor shots to have 62 in the 5th. Then ball change and end up with 171 for a 69X series.

The hellraiser was amazing the first 2 games, it was able to get through the part of the lane very easily (which I just kept asking my ball driller, how is something this strong so clean, and then make its move at the end of the pattern. I threw 25 frames with the hellraiser and left only 1 ten pin. Every time I hit the hole, strike.

The ball reminds me my nano and anarchy. They are both drilled pretty similarly to the HR but the HR is cleaner up front than the nano and has a bigger, more rounded move, than the anarchy. It is definitely a ball motion that I have been missing.

My stats are, for those wondering:

speed- 15.5-16.5 (depends if im going straighter or hooking it

revs- 350/375

PAP- 4 3/4 over and 1/2 up (I believe)

and have pretty decent tilt (sorry I don't know the exact angle)
