How is everyone liking their Grudge? Is it good on heavy only or is ot pretty versatile? Also, how does it compare to the ultimate and regular nirvana?

Got mine last week, and this ball has taken me a little to get used to. I usually throw down 10, and I'm not a real across lane bowler. Last night in league, I stood left and threw it out o 8 and man that thing moves. I've never been able to throw a ball out and get it to come back. EVER. This ball hooks and comes back like a tank. On top of that I was throwing first game on fresh oil. That is amazing! I originally started out trying to throw this ball my usual way, but it kept going brooklyn, even if i tried to chuck it in the oil to hold. Once it hit the spot-goodbye!! I will say though, this ball seems to push oil down lane instead of dry it up. It's almost like urethane. May sound crazy, but this definitely looks like it happens. Either way, the more I throw this ball, the more I'm getting used it and liking it. You'll have to move inside for sure though.

This ball for me has been a tournament only ball as it hooks more than anything I have. Compared to the Nirvana I would say maybe 3-4 boards, but the look is completely different for me. The Nirvana is strong, but really smooth were as the Grudge gets through the heads more and has more punch on the backend. My Ultimate is a little less than the Nirvana and more on backend.

In league last night, I finally felt like I got a good feel for this ball. I'm a bit speed dominant, so I wanted a ball to handle the lane and my speed. This ball just hit like a tank all night. Game one I shot a split and chicken winged it a couple times, but came out with a 216. I made a ball change halfway through game 2 and regretted it. I switched to my black widow LE and it actually hooked more than the Grudge. I think I put more hand it in and paid the price. So I went back to Grudge for game 3 and moved my feet, and wow what a game. Shot a 268. Would have been a 300 if it weren't for 2 stone 9 pins. Great ball. Great look. Lots of hook. Just what I needed. BTW, my Thug Life complements this ball wonderfully. Two great balls to take care of most patterns for me.

This is also a tournament ball for me and I'm very happy with it. I am a somewhat speed dominant player as well, and as a lefty I'm usually facing fresh oil so have really had some struggles finding a ball that works for me on the heavier tournament patterns. The Grudge grips the lane surface hard and slows down in the midlane with plenty of energy left to go through the pins. Shot 269 at a house that uses Pro Lane the other day playing straight up 8 with my normal speed. Strongest ball on the market.

The Grudge is a very strong piece, so it's really stood out for me on longer and/or heavier tournament patterns; however, unlike some of the others, I've been able to get some usage out of it in league as well. Although our league pattern is far from heavy, I was able to use the Grudge with a lot of success provided I kept it in the oil to keep it from burning up. Unlike many other high-end balls, the Grudge doesn't burn up at 10 feet; it retains energy fairly well, especially for a ball that strong. Brass tacks, if you need a strong ball for medium-heavy to heavy conditions, the Grudge is a VERY good choice.
