Saw a video teaser on DV8'S Facebook page of a new Thug. Also, there's a Hooligan Taunt listedon the Approved Ball list. The Thugs were a huge success in my area, can't wait to see these new balls.
-
Per Shannon O'Keefe's facebook page we will know this week. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Shannon-OKeefe-Fan-Page/130275587025240?fref=ts
-
Also another ball with the tag "leave your mark"
-
Isnt that motivs tag? With that graffiti line?
-
yea it is lol
-
End of june shows two from all 3 brands from the flyer I got. One hp and one mp each im guessing
-
I received that flyer as well kid . . . Although I saw the Hooligan Taunt on the USBC Approved Ball List. It doesn't look like that's it in the teaser with the "leave your mark" tag line. Maybe an international release?
-
Look at the blue/gold ball on the flyer(back center) again. Looks like they mixed them up this year
-
Lol look at dat lawsuit

Apprarently that phrase is whored out. Would be a lot of law suits. Thought it was used in a Makers Mark commercial as well
-
After seeing the other vid it looks like its 3 new balls for dv8 after all
-
Cool, I was waiting for the videos...I love the way they do their videos!

I am pumped for the Vandal, could be a nice upgrade from my tracked out Terror!
-
Would have really liked to see a pearl thug...
-
My assumption was a pearl cover. But looking at how it came off the end of the pattern in the videos. . . The Corrupt is definitely stronger off the spot then the Thug. This new cover on the Corrupt and Vandal has peaked my interest for sure. They look like great additions to the line.
-
Composite Hybrid coverstock. Now that seems very interesting.
-
Composite Coverstock Technology is yet another innovation. We feel like we have created a coverstock so versatile, it will be grouped with the breakthroughs of PK18 and Activator.
-
That's awesome Nick! UPS won't get here fast enough. Can't wait to have these on the shelves of my shop. The Thugs were a monster hit in our area!
-
Out of all the announcements I'm most pumped for the Vandal. Looks like something that I might have to purchase.

Yes!

How come none of the Vandals thrown are pin up? They are all pin down. Is that a hint that the ball rolls better pin down?
-
Usually long snappy pearls work way better pin down. That move reminds me of the Classic Zone when it came out.

The pin ups were probably cut from the final version of the product video. I assume given the bowlers stats, the lane surface, oil pattern, etc. It did not play to its strength, and maybe did not strike enough, or rolled like a turd. Who knows....same with the x-out pro cgs on the radical balls...clearly the layout needed a cg left to create a desired reaction for the video. Or the bowler doesn't like weight holes...I usually don't...

Its funny people really think this way. Maybe for the bowlers and balls available they went with pin down drillings for a little overall smoother reaction. Up or down matters little to me as much as pin to pap.
For the guru having a ball with the cg left or right of the pin/mb like they are doent make them xouts. Maybe they chose those balls so they could get the desired layout and not add a weight hole. Which judging by the comments is smart because every little factor is being picked at… ..and as usually it is the things that dont matter.

Whatever dude. Quit being the ultimate defender of any objections.
If it didn't matter at all
They all wouldn't have been drilled ALL PIN UP IN THE VIDEO, ALL OF THEM. They probably roll just fine, and it was the bowlers preference at the time. However, if I was making a video, I would want to convey the ball in a certain positive light...let it play to its strength. It's marketing, genious.
If it didn't matter we wouldn't be using x out cgs, it probably rolled best that day on that condition with the cg in.
Put a demo day layout on it then. Drill all of your your stuff negative. I've seen the cg no matta stuff and agree with it. But we all have a certain way we like things don't we?

The only thing im defending is the insignificant things people obsess on. Read what you wrote and think does it really matter. I have to watch these vids with no volume because I will get an anurism if I hear the same reused phrases over and over every new release
-
All I'm saying is if youre a ball co. And your making videos...u want to put your best anything in the spot light... Otherwise youre selling yourself short.

Here's a pin up drilling from bowlersmart. This ball is going to be a huge hit. This is going to attack the upper mid price point with a juiced up reaction!

Pretty much just a shot at EBI trying to compete against the Widows
-
Not at all a shot at them. I miss spoke . . . It's just a step below that top tier price point is what I was trying to say. A lot of bang for the buck, and a reaction shape that is favorable for many styles. Brunswick went this route with the Fortera line as well. Personally, I think it's a smart idea. In my area and from what I'm seeing on social media . . . DV8 has really turned some heads with the new releases. There's a lot of talk about the Vandal.
-
It is kinda a shot. Asymmetric cored ball priced below the premium price point.
Vandal vs Black Widows vs Track Legion vs 900G Black Ops
I don't really like the comparison to the Fortera line because the Forteras were priced above the Masterminds. I definitely agree that it is a great move to release a ball like the Vandal
-
The Vandal is sick, I threw it last night and couldn't believe how much pop it had down the lane. The sleeper is the Taunt which is really smooth and will be a favourite amongst higher rev players
-
So what is the OOB finish on the vandal? Some sites say 500/royal compound and some say 500/4000. Which one is it?
-
The DV8 website says Royal Compound, which is very close to 4k
