Diva

Anyone else throwing the Diva? How do you like it? I am loving mine, whether throwing two handed or one handed. I was forced to bowl one handed in league last night due to a sore shoulder and I managed a 654 series (187 avg in that league). Never took any one handed shots in practice. Opened the first two frames and took 3 to get lined up. I didn't expect it to be so strong. I was pretty far left and it would pretty much recover every time when I'd swing it wide.

Hoping I can bowl two handed in tournament match play tomorrow, but if not, I am confident throwing this ball one handed. Also have the Brutal Nightmare and Misfit Pearl, but haven't thrown them as much as the Diva. Testing them earlier this week, I found the Brutal Nightmare to be a bit stronger than the Diva for me, but I seemed to have better recovery with the Diva if missing right. The Misfit Pearl shared the same recovery, but was weaker. All 3 seem to be great pieces though.

Glad I made the switch to DV8 finally after throwing primarily Hammer for the last 4-5 years. Had some good balls, but these just seem to roll better for me. Put in an order for the Too Reckless to help fill in the arsenal. Also have the Nightmare already as well.

Wow! I would have thought that the Brutal Nightmare would have been a much stronger ball.

Me also, I threw Hammer and Storm/Roto and once I threw my 1st DV8 I was hooked  8)

I just got the original "Marauder" and I am very, very, impressed with it and its becoming my favorite ball right behind my Hell Raiser Revenge, Hell Raiser Terror, Too Reckless, and Misfit Orange  :) :)
Now throwing pretty much all flavors...

I must say that once again I am pleasantly surprised by another DV8 ball.  This Diva is definitely a manly reaction.  Bowled today on a pretty flat long pattern.  Right of 10 was definitely OB.  Started with the Brutal 17-12.  The mids burned up real fast and the Brutal started to flat 10.  I just drilled the Diva last night and hadnt even throw it yet.  Played the same shot as the Brutal and WOW, this ball was clean and ripped the rack.. I ended up using the Diva most of the day and just kept chasing the shot in.  I ended up around 25-12 and this ball did not quit.  Im amazed at the downlane reaction of the Diva and the Pearl Misfit.

I had the same type of lane conditions at a tournament yesterday as Jason. I was bowling on the Autobahn pattern which I started with the Brutal Nightmare playing 14 to 7. I kept chasing the oil left, but the Brutal was going high after game 5 out of 10. I switched to the Diva which gave me a smoother reaction and I ended up playing 25 to 15 by the 10th game. Also, I shot 290 twice this week with the Diva in 2 different leagues. It has a strong predictable motion that doesn't quit. I have my Diva drilled 65 x 4 3/4" x 65 and it reads the lane perfectly. I would suggest the Diva for fresh or broken down conditions. This ball is not just for the ladies!

I was bowling in the same tournament as Jason on Saturday. I used the Diva all day on the left lane, but it proved too strong for the right. I was bowling two handed, and in hindsight, I should have tried easing back on the revs or changing hand position. Honestly though, with a supremely sore shoulder, I was just trying to make shots.

For awhile, I was striking nearly every shot on the left lane with this ball, even with changing pairs. I was able to get my ball out to about 7 or so (and often had to) before hitting OB. I eventually jumped in front of the ball return on the right lane and had some success, but had trouble being consistent with the different timing. This ball just gives me the ball motion I am looking for most of the time. It was hard to put it away.

I also bowled my Sunday night league last night with it. This time I did try a different release to tame it on the high friction house shot. Shot 642. First game I went with the Diva/Misfit Pearl combo. Second game I had some issues and ended up with my low for the night (182). Third game I figured everything out and shot 248 (all Diva).

This will definitely be my benchmark ball on most conditions, whether I'm throwing two handed (which is my preference, as long as my shoulder allows it) or one handed. I hope they continue the line and add a Pearl and/or hybrid.

The diva is my first ball out of the bag. If it isn't the right ball, it basically tells me what i need. Exactly what you need from your benchmark. Drilling a second one shortly.
