Where are the pearls?
« on: March 18, 2014, 09:10:42 AM »
Other than the Diva and Misfit, I've noticed the current DV8 lineup is light on pearls....and none in the pro performance level.

Anything coming?

What about the Brutal? It's definitely at least a hybrid if not full pearl

Cover prep is more important then if it says pearl solid or hybrid.

The Reckless was pearl and a sooner rolling ball because of oob finish. The Too Reckless was a highly polished solid made to go longer and be stronger on the backend then the Reckless. Surface
…… you can't  add a physics term to a bowling term and expect it to mean something.

An old platitude involving bowling balls seems appropriate here:

"You don't buy a ball; you buy a ball reaction."

The difference between pearls, solids and hybrids has completely blurred over the past 5 - 10 years. You look at the basic design of the ball, the properties of the cover and core and use that to decide if that ball and the ways a driller can manipulate the drilling and the ways you can manipulate the surface to make it, allow it to do what you need (not want).

Manufacturers dull pearls, polish solid and dull and polish hybrids.  One can no longer assume that because its a pearl, it's best used polished, nor can one assume that because it's a solid, it's best used dull
"None are so blind as those who will not see."

Pearls are a hard, lustrous spherical mass, typically white or bluish-gray, formed within the shell of a pearl oyster or other bivalve mollusk and highly prized as a gem.

But that's not important right now.
