OverSeas Dynothane Question
« on: December 12, 2005, 12:01:58 AM »
Does anybody have one of these? On ebay they are selling  bunch. Some are pro pins and blems. I was looking at a Summit XYZ and Element Platinum. Is it worth the price to take a chance on one?

thanks

I hope so as I bought two of them over the weekend.  I've bought a few overseas releases from MadMax before.  I have a Storm El Nino Level 1 and a Vendetta Sin.  The Level 1 is an interesting ball, but it hooks less that I thought it would.  The Vendetta Sin is a great ball and I've won a good chunk of money with it.

The Summit XYZ looks like a version of the Thing Lives, while the Element Platinum is a Vendetta.  Both look like safe bets to me...but you never know what the real reason behind the blem is until you get it.

Please leave the X comp element platinum 15lb alone...  I'll find out if it's worth it for you if the price goes for low enough.

It should be worth it.  I have two Dyno Thane balls from that seller off Ebay.  One an X comp and one a X blem, both work great.  From what I've heard tho the blems are usually harder to drill, and my balls would be indicative of that.  My blem element AU79 shows that the pin is almost completely on the opposite side of the ball as the CG. It works great, but neither I nor my ball driller cold tell you exactly how it's drilled.

Just received my two blems today from Bowlingball.com and they both have great specs and pin distances.  The Summit has the same small fleck of color defect that my old Vendetta Sniper has.  On the Dyno Black Pearl I actually can't find anything wrong with it other than the pearl look doesn't seem to be throughout the entire coverstock...almost like a pearl / solid hybrid.

Bowlingball.com has the best auctions on Ebay for bowling balls...Congrats on the balls, I try to stick to the x comps just to be a little safer.  At least you're assured of cosmetic only blems that way.

I'm sure they aren't going to release balls for testing that have poor pin placements or wacked out specs.
