Crisis pearl vs Slate blue gargoyle
« on: March 09, 2005, 01:39:14 PM »
My grandfather calls me tonight, he wanted info on the Crisis pearl to combat dry lane conditions on his senior league.  There is "some" head oil but the track area is pretty burnt.  Anyway, I suggested the slate blue but I wanted to get more info from you dyno guys on the crisis pearl.

Stroker..low revs...alittle axis tilt(pap is 4 3/4 by 1).

His main problem is controlling the backend.  I suggested that if he wanted the crisis to drill it 2 x 2 or drill the urethane slate blue.

Please throw your opinions in...

Thanks guys.

The Crisis Pearl is a good choice to combat the dry,..however I would suggest layout #4 on our drill sheet, jim

Thanks for the reply, I checked out the drill instructions.  My worry is the crisis pearl would still grab too much in the heads.

WOW, Jim!
Do you think a stroker (I'm thinking slower ball speed) has enough ball speed to have that retain enough energy of "dry" lanes?

I wonder (Can't say for sure) if a 5" pin might not be gooderer. ?
Also Wonder if the old half a step between a Crisis Pearl and a pearl urethane, the "good ole" Barrage, might not be good, a safe choice.

Say, Andrew, how dry is this "dry" anyway?
Can you say what his other balls (or yours) are doing on this dry and how they are doing it?

Well, since I live 1500 miles away, it is really hard to judge this for myself.  My info is, the condition varies weekly and is never the same.  He has a Track Sheer Havoc that he uses when the lanes are more like a fresh THS.  When the oil disappears he struggles to keep everything on the right.  I suggested the slate blue or even the XXXL.  Wish I had more info but I don't.

Yes, but his ball speed, slower, prevents the ball from getting down the lane.

Andrew,

Until you can get more definitive information to help him, you may be doing more harm than good ... No matter how good your intentions are. Be careful.

You may be right.  All he complains about is inconsistent conditions, one week he can't get anything to move, the next he says the lanes a bone dry.
