It's been recommended to me by Phil (new guy) to clean my SOAKER balls with just soap and water... but I'm just curious as to what all of you have been cleaning your SOAKER coverstock balls with (or if you haven't ever cleaned them at all?) since they came out a couple of years ago?
And has any one person at all, ever had one of these balls die... ever???

Have used Simple Green mainly on a Thing and Thing Returns. I'm sure soap and water will do fine also. Never used Elixr on either of them. Vendetta's I have used Elixr.
Thing has about 250 games on it. TR less. Don't see much reaction loss. One of the best covers out there.

I usually clean my Thing with a light spray of citrus degreaser. I have mine dulled slightly and the ball gets pretty dirty. I haven't noticed any performance loss. After reading Phil's comments, I'm going to skip cleaning it for a while to see if anything changes.

I have an element that I clean with regular ball cleaner, but i don't do it every time I use the ball ( i know its a bad thing) but i haven't seen any decline in performance. What i have seen is maybe a slightly stronger backend reaction, I think the oil almost works like a polish on the ball and thats why they seem to get stronger, you just see a more pronounced move. I was almost dissapointed with the reaction when i got the ball cause it was sooo smooth and it wasn't what i thought it was going to be, I bought it used supposedly at about 50 games, i moved the thumb and have about 200 more on it, I don't think they die! Also have a VP that is going strong after roughly 150 games I don't see that slowing down any either.. i think Dyno has one heck of a cover program, I love the balls they have all the way around, great work guys!

I've been cleaning my Anomaly after every set with ball cleaner; mainly because it picks up junk from the lanes like no other ball I've ever owned. Didn't know that chemical cleaners were bad for the Soakers until reading this. It'll be Dawn & water on this ball from now on.
Question is: If the chemical cleaners damage the cover, or cause it lose reaction; should the ball be resurfaced to bring up a fresh layer of coverstock. Would this even work? And if the ball does get resurfaced, do you have to go through the same 20-30 game "break-in" period all over again?
