High Energy VS. Element AU79
« on: February 01, 2006, 10:56:42 AM »
A girl on my team is intersted in purchasing a new High Performance ball.  She is torn between the AU79 and the High Energy.  I don't know her stats, but she rolls it pretty slow and does not have alot of hand.  We bowl on synthetic lanes, second shift, with tons of carrydown.  How do these balls compare? Which has more backend etc..  The DT Website makes them look really similar, with the HE handling just a bit more oil.  Any input is appreciated.

Having both, I would say that the High Energy would be the better of the two.  My High Energy covers more boards and is better at handling carrydown.  It has a lower rg wich should help get the most out of her revs

I have had both and still have the AU79. If you want the ball with more backend, then its the au79 hands down. It will also handle carrydown pretty good. If you want the ball to start sooner and be more arcy, then the HE might work. I didn't care for my HE at all though. I couldn't get a consistent read every time.I think if you want that type of reaction you should try the Pure energy or V-Maxx. HE is the only ball I have not loved by D/T.

My Au79 is inverted core cuz of the long pin out, so I'm sure that makes a difference.

As it is my AU79 goes sharper, but gets down the lane further.

The HE has a sharp arc kind of breakpoint, and the au79 is a just a strait break off to the left without much arc at all.

She does not have a lot of finnesse when she bowls, so I was going towards the AU79 also.  I don't believe arcing is a good thing for her.  Just turn. I think she will pick it up from Buddies.
