sniper....again
« on: October 14, 2005, 02:51:14 AM »
Ok my fiance decided to be nice and order me a vendetta sniper since i shot 800 the other day.  Dont know why but who am i to complain.  If any of you remember I'm wanting it for carry down more than anything.  I would like to know what some drilling suggestions would be for this ball to work on carry down on a medium to medium/heavy shot.

Don't remember anything about you.

No profile.

Shot 800 announced it...I think your only post ever.

Good bowling.

You probably want to go with 3 3/8 pin from center of grip and PAP. Particle pearls aren't really snappy on the backend like full reactives.

I dont post a ton here but I've posted what i know.  Dont know how to get the pap, etc.  No clue what so every actually.  High track probably considered med-high revs and throw between 16 and 17 mph.  Love to give more details but i havent the slightest how to figure what out and i live in a small town with no one within 45 minutes who could even help me on finding that stuff out.

this is my 1st sniper actually.  My vendetta solid is like this:
  0 0
    o
     .
   0
gives a nice smooth reaction but hasnt been the best on carry down though.
Wanted the particle because of the smoother reaction in relation to the dry.  Though the only dyno-thane ball i have that's snappy at all is the thing returns.

I would say to drill the sniper similar to your vedetta and mess with coverstock prep and/or a weight hole to tweek your initial reaction.  The sniper is a really nice piece for me.  Though when the ball isn't reacting enough on the backends I tend to pick-up my High Energy or a Big Time Pearl (ya I know it's not Dynothane...but it's such a nice ball).  Though I really do want to polish my high pin Sniper to see if I can get a little more snap out of it.

goof, that's what i was actually thinking was drilling the sniper close to how i have the black solid.  Like i said, it gives a real smooth reaction and carries great.  I thought about a high energy or pure energy but unfortunately dont hit enough oil most the time to actually use them.  I was actually going to get the big time solid right after it came out after watching others use it but when i talked to the guy who drills my equipment he actually recommended against it because of how i bowl.
