Which new ball = Thing Returns
« on: February 18, 2006, 04:26:43 AM »
I'm dropping from 16lb to 15lb because of an attempt to gain some ball speed and perhaps get a little more control.  Since the Thing Returns has be retired by Dyno-Thane, I'm curious as to which ball would fill this void for me?  I'm thinking maybe Vendetta Pearl perhaps?  Im going to try to find another Thing Returns to begin with, this is a just in case deal here so if you could let me know I'd appreciate it.  If I need to change the drill could you please suggest something as well so I can get close to the same reaction.  Current is:

...0.0
....o
.....x
....0

Thanks,
Nick

While I'm at it, I'm selling my current equipment and am not real sure about how much i should try to get for them.

Centrifugal Mass < 30 games  --SOLD--
Thing Returns ~ 50
Crisis Pearl - 2nd drill ~ 50 games
Barrage ~ 15 games

If anyone has an idea of what I should try to get please let me know.

Closest ball in their current line-up would probably be the Element AU79...it might just start up a bit earlier though so put the pin in a slightly higher position.

I'm currently looking at the Element Zr40 to replace my aging Thing Returns. That might be a ball for you to check into...

Didnt think about an AU79.  Had one for about a month with a similar drill as my Thing Returns with VERY bad results.  Didnt hit at all no matter the shot unless released one specific way.  I could see how a different drill may fix that though.

On the ZR40....Would this ball not be much more aggressive compared to the TR?  A friend of mine has one but cant really compare our styles so i really dont know how these 2 compare.  Thanks for the replies

Oh yeah, no doubt on that one at all.  I'll take my slow speed all day long.  Maybe one day i'll be able to concentrate in shelby again and shoot something.  Man i need to find a sport league.

Shelby has possibly the most unpredictable shot from week to week in the world.  One second the ball is breaking 39948993 boards, the next, hell you have to play the biggest hooking ball you have straight down.  Gotta love shelby.

Without a doubt shelby is a mess.  You see why I have a hard time concentrating.  I mean I like a hard shot and everything but it gets a little rediculous at times.

Anyone else have any recommendations for replacing my thing returns?

Nevermind about needing a Thing Returns.  Thanks for the help tekneek.  You're awesome.  Of course my other Dyno's are still for sale so I can drop weight.  Somebody...Anybody? :-)
