New ball
« on: August 30, 2006, 02:55:43 PM »
I need a new ball for this fall. I was looking at a threshold but i dono if i need that much hook. Actually im trying to play down and in. so that takes out that ball. I bowl on a 40 foot medium oil shot, with clean alittle carry down. I am stroker with 13 mph ball speed and 200 revs. Any suggestions

For versatility I would probably say Magnum 44.

With 13 MPH speed, you should be able to use plastic down and in. The Threshold is way out of your league with 13 mph even if you wanted to play deep lines. The best D/T balls to fit what you need would probaly be the Energy,Mag44,or 357.

Your right Legends, Energy or 357 wouldn't be a bad choice either.  I still think the Magnum would cover more various patterns and be easier to control than the others.  However, ALLSTARBOWLINGJOE has Energies on his website for $89.79 shipped.  That is a screaming deal for those balls.

Lou, finally got my 357, took it out for a spin in practice session proir to league. Drilled the same as my 44, whoa exceptional angular motion at the break point, very clean for the first 30 feet, at 45 feet it explodes and moves left. I've never been a fan of solid pearls, but this one is changing my mindset. I'll have a better evaluation Sunday, threw it the last 4 balls of the third game last night 3 flush strikes and a stone 9 on the last ball. I know you're going to ask, so it was 3 1/2" pin with 2.4 oz top,4" pin to PAP, MB at 45*, ended up with 5/8 + side, 1/4 oz thumb no X hole. Ready for one?????

Hey tekneek, if your not such a fan of solid pearls would you give your Energy away that you care so much for?  Anyway where was the pin located?  I'm guessing in or over ring?
