Good choice for shorter patterns/drier conditions?

What Dyno-Thane would be best suited for shorter oil patterns/drier conditions with no carrydown?  I just want something that clears the heads better and isn't as aggressive as my VP & VPP.

Any ideas?

Well, if he's gonna get that, he'll have to not drill it too strong, since it's already a strong ball.

The TR isn't a bad ball for drier stuff, but some would argue that the Crisis will fit that bill a little better, the TR might be too much on real dry conditions.

I had The Thing Returns and that som of a beeyatch hooked a ton!  Seriously.  I've also had the Anomaly and The Thing.  All very good bowling balls but they cannot seem to handle the drier/shorter stuff.  Since I only bowl in one house and the shot was always around 41 or 42 feet (until recently) I didn't think I needed a ball for this gawd awful mess they got goin' on now!  They shortened the pattern and are using less volume and as a result, tonight was my 3rd consecutive week under 600.  Before they screwed with the shot, I went almost 20 consecutive weeks over 600.

I like the Crisis, polished, and drilled mine with the pin over the bridge, and the cg about a 1/2 right of the center of the span...I think that the new Vendetta Pearl may also work on this condition, with the same type drill, and a little sheen,..although I haven't drilled one for that type condition yet..

I believe in being honest, and even though I'm a D/T staffer, I'm not a fan of the Barrage. All balls are not built for all bowlers, and I can't get the Barrage to hit like I can a Crisis polished. The Barrage will play great on dry surfaces, and I can hit the pocket, but I sure get a lot of 9 counts...I don't seem to match up well with the Barrage...jim

Thanks, now I just need to decide between the new Vendetta Reactive Pearl and the Crisis...

What is the box finish on a Crisis?  The Dyno-thane website says the Crisis is a 2000 grit polished pearl.  Is that correct?  Is it really a polished pearl ball out of the box?

I think that may be a misprint. If it's the same as the original Crisis, it is a highly polished solid. I believe DT is thinking about bringing out a pearl Crisis.

The Vendetta Pearl will probably go slightly longer than the Crisis, with a more pronounced backend, if both are drilled similarly. The Vendetta core is stronger from the point of view of RG and differential. That said, I am inclined to believe that they may be able to handle similar amounts of oil, with the Vendetta having the potential to handle more thru stronger drillings plus the potential to have more of a skid/flip ball reaction.
