Which do you think would be better for a freshly oiled, medium volume league pattern? They both look great to me, and have their strong points. I've heard great things about the Vendetta core but also great things about the Energy's soaker coverstock. I'm looking for something I can stick with through all three games on older wood lanes. I know my posts are getting tiring, but I'm ordering one today!

IMHO...Sniper, just can't go wrong.

Sniper has particle... which may be better on the fresh. It is also pearlizes so it should be usable for a few games (as opposed to a solid you'd have to put up after game one).

The Pure Energy might be a better alternative, being that it has particle. Add a little shine and it will give you a nice look for a full set.

gotta agree with Goof, just rolled my Sniper on med to heav ths last night, all three with a 3 board move with the feet and 2 with target. 280, 195, 266. Stone 9 pin second frame of the first game then sheet. First 2 in game two before a 10 pin, second game the transition fooled me, missed the hole 2 times one BIG split and a missed 2-8 conversion, my fault lost my focus thanks to the Heinken. Third game one bad ball, sent to drier area too soon, left 3,6,10, spared, stone 9 next frame, then 7 bagger, 10 pin spare.
The Sniper is an absolute must in any arsenal. D/T is sending me a Pure Energy, Thing Returns to go in my wife's new D/T arsenal. I use Pure Energy, Sniper, Thing Returns and the Crisis Pearl.

Calling the shop now, going to order a Sniper.

Maybe I'll look into something with Soaker in the future for heavier conditions.

if that is the condition you bowl on the Sniper is a great choice, the cover is very versitile and easy to change to get the desired look you want. You will not be dissapointed in your decision. I gar-ron-tee

I have to agree, Sniper is the right choice. Now you just have to pick the right drilling.

I emailed DT, and sent them what specs I had. (PAP, where my track is, playstyle, etc. I don't know my speed or rev rate.) They recommended a 3 3/8 X 4 drilling, if I remember right. I'll go over this with my pro shop guy, too, though, as I know very little about drilling other than placing the Pin above the fingers generally makes a ball go longer.

Put pin next to ring, and I think you have a great option.
