Sooo they decide to put out a pro shot tonight...
« on: February 21, 2005, 12:03:27 PM »
A few weeks back a guy threw a 300 299 227 actually it was last tuesday, i can understand why they might alter the pattern and i threw a 298 aswell. Sooo today monday night league its a bunch of older guys that are not pros buy no means theres people that avg 170-210. Tonight a guy bowled a 123,123, and a 96 he can adjust but this was extream you couldent make the ball hook tonight it was something i never experienced. i threw a few parctice games a 199 258 and a 207, i was suprized really, i dident know that was a pro shot then tho, in league a threw a 147 150 172. i jus couldent get the ball to turn over i hope the same shot isnt out next week...and i hope they use it for leagues all week. not just this league.

When the PBA put it down in the last 4 tournaments in which I encountered it, I didn't have the good fortune of any "bounce".  Wide shots gave one the pleasure of shooting at either a washout or 3-6-10 splits.  Every now and again you could add a 9 pin to that split arrangement.

No, the PBA Director didn't give us any "bounce" on Pattern B.

Yeah, there usually isn't much. You usually have to play straight. I did play on older wood lanes that were in dire need of a resurface, and the shot played pretty dry.

In terms of bounce off the dry, I was talking about how league bowlers are used to it on a ths, and when there isn't any, they think its heavy oil with screaming backends, even though it is really more of a medium shot.

If you want to try a fun pattern, you should check out my Sport shot for this month.  45' of flat oil with no buff.  Equal volume for 45' from 1 board to 1 board.

If you miss, you pay.  I promise.

Apologies.  I said Pattern B was 42'.  It's actually 43'.  I must have had my Sport League oil on my mind.

Dry Lane ball-don't need one. If you can't throw a polished ball straight up second arrow and kick out the 10 pin, you're nothing more than a house bowler. Adjust your shot, don't complain to the owner and buy a $100 spare ball that you use six times in four years.

may not have a ton of hand, but I've got 1500 pounds of fingers. I'd call myself 240-n-up-or-bust if I could simply make a $%@($^@(# ten pin.
