Anomaly: Particle or Reactive?

Is this a particle ball? If it's reactive, how in the world do they think it will be a good Heavy Oil ball?

And also, I just saw one on the internet and the thing is polished!!! A polished ball that works on Heavy Oil??? What in the world is that about???

I believe Phil Cardinale, the owner and designer of Dyno-Thane, considers the Soaker coverstock to be neither resin nor particle. The Anomaly is a solid Soaker cover that comes 1000 grit matte/smooth (non-polished) finish. It can sanded to 400 or 600 grit to handle more oil or it can be polished easily, like the one you saw to handle drier (not dry) conditions.

Phil dodges the issue pretty well when you ask specific details about the Soaker coverstock.  All I know is that to me, it it feels like a light load particle coverstock.  The reason is that the Element and Things are all very true-rolling balls, they read the lane well and roll heavy.  

I have two Anomalys and both are polished.  I could use one of them on heavy oil if I need.  I've said it before, I like the Anomaly enough to use layouts to tweak the ball to fit multiple conditions.  If I am lucky, I will be able to use an Anomaly on Light-Medium oil with the right drill pattern.  The ball hits like a tank.  

If you've never rolled a D/T ball, my very first suggestion is to buy a Vendetta Solid.  I've heard quite a few people compare it to the V2 but with a little more bite, although I don't know as I've never had a V2.  And for the price, the Vendetta Solid is difficult to beat.  If you want the total D/T experience, get the Anomaly.  Then you'll understand why this ball is causing a lot of people to "jump ship" from their favorite ball company.

I think Ric is reacting to the camera flash reflection on the ball,...the ball looks like it's a matte finish to me.........

Moj, look at it again.....but don't look at the shiny spot, look to the left, you can tell it's matte finish if you only look there....

I believe the guy polished it to enhance the apperance.It definatly is not box finish.I set mine in the light and do not get that kind of glare,look at both pic's.I believe that price is a little high also.If all else fails and we can not agree someone could email the seller and ask.

Never mine about mine I for got I scuffed it up but I know it didnt have a shine to it like the one in the pic.

Also you can email bowlersales on ebay and he can get you one for about 120 125 shipped.

The Ebay ball has been polished, without a doubt. The dull ball is not a pretty one.

I thought someone already told you they polished it to make it look better for sale purposes? It comes 1000 grit matte (smooth). It does look better polished, like many balls, but performs like it's expected to in its box condition.

I know that everybody said that the ball had been polished for sale purposes... but I was just responding back to your post earlier in the thread when you said, "Ric, WHY ARE YOU SAYING THAT?", which you had posted earlier in the thread BEFORE anybody had really said that it was just polished up for the picture (which you had posted on 1/6/04). So I was just replying back to your question eventhough AFTER your question people started saying that it had been polished just for sale purposes.
