Same drilling and but diffrent Sufraces 800grit with a light polish on thing lives and thing returns is at box tweener 300 revs

I want to know if u got 2 balls 1 Thing returns 1 Thing lives. and drilled them the same with constant CG locations and all specs are the same and threw them both with box surface, what would the diffrence be
