Caveat: I'm not slamming D/T!

Is it me, or is there a lot of performance type related posts in regards to the Anomaly ??

For me.....that deep inside line with Anomaly will not work, unless there is dry backends.


I love the roll the ball has. My problem is that it continues to roll straight into the 3 pin if it encounters any carrydown at all. And PLEASE, do not say the ball has to be burning up.....I know how a ball that is burning up reacts, and this ball is not doing that. I have a Fear Factor sanded down to 400 grit and if it is not burning up for me the Anomaly certainly is not burning up.

Let me make one thing perfectly clear about this ball for me: I drilled this ball to not be the biggest hooking ball I have, but I drilled it for carry down problems that often occur when I am bowling against a team that is using plastic or urethane equipment. I did have a couple of good games with the Anomaly, but those games were thrown when the lanes were fresh. As soon as carrydown started to happen, this ball had to be put back into the bag. NOW with that said, for someone with less ball speed than I have should not have a problem getting this ball to recover nicely.

I'm locking this topic soon because it's getting into a pissing match and that is not what it was intended for......back to square one...some balls match up for people better than others........

Phil, it appears EXCALIBER has his in box condition...he's the first response to the thread.........

The above comment, to me, logically reads; his Anomaly isn't 400 grit like his Fear Factor that isnt' rolling out.....

Having read this post, I must say, all you guys(no pun intended) do, or should, know that reviewing balls is a HIGHLY subjective thing.

 I have balls that work great sometimes. At those times they would get an unusually high rating, but sometimes they don't work well due to lane conditions. The poor performance is due to the lane conditions, not the ball or anything to do with it.

 I have a ball in my arsenal that I thought I would hate the first time I tried it. There was lots of carrydown and I had been told that this was a strong ball with lots of backends. I didn't see any of that the first time and figured I had another loser. Then in league, with fresh backends, I shoot 258(should have been 300 except for operator malfunction), 260, 231(open in the 9th frame) for a 749 that could well have been 800 with just a couple more good shots on my part.

 So remember, every ball is different for every bowler on every lane condition. What one guy simply HATES, another will simply LOVE.

P.S. And as far as coverstocks needing to "break-in", am I the only one who thinks this about storm pearl covers?
