The choice is easy, choose the Ebonite Choice bowling ball. Ebonite took the proven Centrex Symmetrical Mass Bias core and adjusted the shape to lower the differential and introduce the Mod-1 Core. This core creates easy length through the front of the lane and allows for great continuation down lane. The Choice combines this core with the GSV-1 coverstock which is a decendent of the coverstocks used in the successful Game Breaker series of bowling balls. This high performance bowling ball is a great choice for heavy oil.

Color: Black/Red/White
Coverstock: GSV-1 (Good Stuff Version 1) Hybrid
Core: Mod-1
Finish: 500/1000/2000 Abralon
RG: 2.49 (for 15# ball)
Differential: 0.054 (for 15# ball)
Recommended Lane Condition: Heavy Oil
Reaction: Aggressive Mid-Lane and Backend

Excerpt:
In the end, the Ebonite Choice is a big ball with a large foot print. If you don’t show it enough oil in the first 30 feet, the ball may look weaker than it is because the core just doesn’t bend since it’s burnt out. It really burns up early. However, show it some oil where you can play it more direct or move it onto the tougher shots and it really begins to shine. Alternatively, you can adjust the surface to make it more usable the way we did to the Verdict and you will find a pretty good ball. You just have to decide if you want to get it and hold it for when you need something aggressive or adjust surface and use it more often. It’s up to you.

COMMENTS
The Choice fresh out of the box with the 2000 abralon surface performed extremely well.  I have only used the Choice on league type of patterns.  It really blended out the heavy volume in the middle of the lane.  The Choice is very strong in the mid part of the lane and the entry angles are predictable.  I liked the Choice much better with more surface (2000) than with smoothing the surface up to 4000 on high volume league patterns. Even with the strong factory surface, the ball is very clean through the front.  The strong core and aggressive cover will give most league bowlers a ball motion that performs extremely well on recreation patterns.  If you are looking for a ball that hooks in oil, this ball is for you.  Win the Day!

LANE CONDITION

Length:  41 foot

Volume:  Medium

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc):  THS

Ebonite knows how to make bowling balls that change directions, without giving up the control that is needed to control the pocket. The Choice is no exception. The Choice is the perfect blend of hook, power, and control. With enough hook potential for oil, the power needed for pin carry, and the control necessary to reach the pocket. There is only one "Choice"!

Thank you for reading my review and thoughts on the Ebonite Choice!

First off, this thing hooks!!! I don't want to bog down my reviews with copying and pasting all the relevant information of how I deliver a bowling ball and all, so I'll keep this portion brief. I am a rev rate dominant player who sticks to 2 layouts. With my Choice, I went with my high flare layout of 60 by 4-3/4 by 35, which places the pin above my finger, MB near the thumb. I've had some high hooking oilers in the past, and this may very well be the biggest ball I have ever thrown. The crazy part is that it isn't unusable. Bowling in a Swiss Trios event at a local center on AMF HPL with Ice conditioner used on a medium length high volume challenge pattern, I was able to use the Choice for the first 3 games. It was the only ball that I could get to read consistently and it allowed me to play further inside. The format dictated finding the line versus grooming the line, so I went with this option. Even with how strong the ball is, it is very quick on the spot (when there's enough volume). I keep this ball at 1000 grit abralon, as a dull and strong option for the fresh. When I get to throw this piece, I get excited. This ball is the oiler everyone should get.

The Ebonite Choice has been a great ball to have! For a THS-Medium Lane Condition, this ball gets through the front part of the lane really clean! On the backend, the Choice drives through the pins with an angular motion that creates a ton of pin action! This is a great ball to have for league or tournaments If you are looking for medium to heavy oil conditions. Make the right Choice for the end of league year and Summer Leagues and get this in your bag!
