GameBreaker2
« on: September 23, 2014, 10:07:34 AM »
Picked one up Friday before league.  Threw it for the first 2 games went 235,225 put it away and went with my Legacy.  Monday I break it out and shoot 300 in game 1 226 game 2 (me missing spares) and again Legacy for game 3.  From what I can see so far on my house shot, the ball really needs some head oil or it starts to check  way too early.  This combo of GB2 and Legacy (more length) is giving me a very good look for most of the night.  I never owned the original GB but, a friend of mine did and he watched me throw it Friday and said it has very close to the same reaction as the old but, overall more hook.  I might have to get another one of these and take it to 4000 for game 3 to see how it goes.

I'm trying to come up with a reason not to buy this ball. I'm failing miserably!

I drilled mine yesterday and threw it right off the press and shot 268 with 2 smash 8 pins.  This ball is about as close to the original as you can get.   I will probably put 2 or 3 more in my bag.  One pin up shined, one pin down oob one pin up oob and drilled Rico shined

I got one last week and it's a great piece.  Very very similar motion to the original gb. Probably best ebonite piece in years from what others have said

The PlayMaker was a great ball, I wish I still had mine.

I told myself I wasn't buying any new gear since I'm not bowling leagues this season. I know I'm going to end up buying this ball though. I'm a big fan of the 'Breaker line.

I have at least 150 games on mine so far.
and used on  higher volume patterns.
have tried to bake it to get any oil out of cover to prevent cover death (complaint for original GB)
didnt get any oil out of ball at all
freshened up cover a couple of times to OBB and its still good as new IMO
whats there not to like

For as much (due) love that the GB gets it's baffling to me how little people talk of the Playmaker. My fav ball of all-time.

The Game Breaker 2 is exactly as advertised and is as good as the original.

I have been a fan of the 10.7 coverstock in most cases since the release of The One, and the V2 core, even the new enhanced version, never disappoints.

The core shape finally allowed me to try a new layout, recommended by a very successful friend. We drilled this one Rico (45 x 4.5 x 95 with an extra hole).

I find the reaction down the lane to be very strong, sometimes a little too strong or unpredictable, depending on the pattern.

I have worked with the surface quite a bit. It comes at (500, 2000 Abralon), but I wanted to see what the different surfaces would do, as it was unpredictable/over-under for me at times.

Adding more surface gives the Game Breaker 2 plenty of teeth and shape and allows me to move right (I’m left-handed) on heavier patters or slicker oils. With this drilling, it still has plenty of pop on the backend, so it doesn’t labor downlane when I’m playing more right to left.

With a little less surface on the same heavier oil, I like to move left and play straighter. The ball goes longer and is very angular at the end of the pattern.

When it’s shiny, I like the GB2 on a house pattern. The checkmark shape allows me to move right and throw it at the breakpoint. It definitely helps create some area. If I had to pick a favorite option, it would be this one. It’s longer and straighter than the Honor and allows me to keep my speed up.
