Drilled w/ a 4'" pin to PAP with a 45 degree mb......
The ball gets through the heads very easy then makes a big move on the back in. I would say it is about 5 to 6 boards stronger than my NVS and a little earlier. I used a 6inch pin so the pin is way up above my fingers. Shot 675 with it the first time out which I normally dont throw a ball that I just drilled in league the same night but we were bowling a pretty easy team to beat so I did not care. I have already sold the 6 I had in the shop and I still need 5 more to feel the orders that I sold already. This will be a hot seller for a few months until they come out with somethingelse.

I Just bowled with the complete NV this week and Wow what a awesome hitting ball. I started out of the gate with the first 8 strikes before I left a fast eight count. I then struck two more time for 277,228.189. The ball was so smooth going down the lane., I did not have to work hard with the ball. You can definitely tell the difference between the performsnces of the Total NV, and NVS, compared to this ball. This will be a great ball to enjoy throwing.

I just got my Complete NV and took it to the pro shop to get it drilled.  I shot 16 frames with it, and man it is SWEET!  This ball out hooks anything I've ever thrown.  I had the guy at the lanes put down a heavy oil pattern, and then I shot with this ball.  I was standing at the last dot on the left, tossed the ball out to boards 3-4 and it came back to the pocket with a huge backend hook!  I struck with the CNV 13 of the 16 frames.  I was very impressed!  I did not have a pocket shot that did not carry the strike.  I had 3 balls that I left inside to much, and they ended up going through the head pin!  I also liked this ball, because you could miss your spot by up to 5 boards and the ball still made a sharp turn into the pocket and carried the strike!  I throw in league next Thursday, then a tourney next Friday and another on Saturday.  So I will post another review after next weekend's events!

Well i will start out by saying i was hesitant on drilling this ball just because i didn't have success with the nvs, but i put it aside after talking to rich twyman the mastermind from ebonite in laying balls out. I took his advise when he told me it is a beefed up total nv which i loved very much and had a lot of success with, so i drilled it this morning 15 minutes before i was scheduled to bowl my league, i put the pin above my fingers and the cg slightly to the right of my midline, and the mass bias to the right of the thumb with no weight hole, i left it box finish. I will start out by saying when i first threw this ball it was love at first site, the ball rolled awesome and i knew it would be a great ball, so i finished up practiced and tuned the finger and thumb holes with tape. I open up the first game with a 247 and missed a 10 pin, second game was a lot like the first one but shot 257 and missed a 10 pin, and last game i shot 299 for a set of 803 out of the box. So to give you the skinny on what the ball did, it was very clean thru the front of the lane and when it came off the pattern it started to make its move to the pocket and was very continuous thru the pins. This ball seems to always be gripping the lane strongly and almost like i had a remote control in my hands, so all i can say is run out and check out this ball at your local pro shop and don't be afraid to purchase one and always BOWL TO WIN!. Thanks again goes out to damon from ebonite as he has been a great help with putting me on staff and taking care of me, keep up the great balls, also the raid is a good compliment to this ball it is cleaner and not as strong in the back so a great 1-2 knockout.

just got my NV this weekend. Drilled with pin above ring finger, CG is to the right of midline and the MB is just to the right of my thumb with a very small
weight hole.  I am a small woman, so I don't throw the ball with a lot of speed.
Therefore, getting the ball through the heads and not losing energy on the backend is key for me.  I left the finish as is.  The ball gets through the heads so clean and makes a hard left.  It is a very controllable ball.  Keeps the pins low and hits hard. Very happy so far with this ball and looking forward to my next tournament.

Complete NV Review

Bowlers specs:
Speed: 15-17 mph
Revs: 350-400 rpm
Axis rotation: Approx. 45°

Description:
Weight: 15 lbs.
Top weight (Pre-drill): 3.5 oz
Pin to CG distance: 3"
Surface prep: OOB

Drilling:
Pin to PAP distance: 5"
MB to PAP distance: 3"
Degree of drilling: 35°
Balance hole location, size, and depth: None required

Conditions:
Pattern: THS / 36' / Second shift
Lane material: Synthetic

Line being played:
Arrow board/Break point board: Approx. 18th board out to 8 board

Results:
Given the second shift, broken down condition I wasn't sure what kind of result to expect, much less whether or not I would be able to even use this ball. As a very pleasant surprise, the Complete NV worked very well, throughout the night (all four games of the set, doubles format).

Initially, I had to reduce my ball speed slightly due to a lack of response and carry in warmups. I also tried my Blue Vibe and Raw Anger in warmups; the Blue Vibe was earlier to move and a little squirrely & the Anger was way earlier (imagine that) and way too much surface for the condition.

Once I settled on a line and got comfortable with my release (new pitches in my thumb, so I was getting a feel for it) things started to fall into place. The Complete NV gave me a ridiculous margin for error, striking on several errant shots. It held in the oil and made a strong move on the back when I pulled a shot. It also made a very strong move back from the edge when I missed to the right a bit. In the end, I posted a 682 for the first 3 games & finished with a 214 to total out at 896 for the 4 game set. Very acceptable for someone who normally averages 198 or so.

The overall reaction was long and strong, but not jumpy by any means. I was very impressed with how smooth the response was, given the pearl cover. It could have been due to the carrydown. Speaking of carrydown, the Complete NV did not have a problem dealing with what was there. If there had been a higher initial volume of oil, it may have been a problem.

I will put some more weeks worth of play on the ball and update this review. I just wanted to post my initial impressions and since I'd never done a review in my several years of being on BR, I thought it was time. Hopefully I've helped someone out with it!

I bowl for Alabama A & M Women's bowling and I use all Ebonite Equipment.  The complete NV is awesome.  It hits a lot harder than the Total NV,and hooks about 5 to 7 boards more. The complete NV is by far one of the best. I recommend it for any bowler who is looking to improve their game. Women bowlers this is a great ball to get I highly recommend it!!

As I've had my Complete NV for about three weeks now I can give you my impressions with this ball.  First, it is much more ball than the Total, easily being an instant 5 boards move to the left on the approach.  It isn't for a total flood as I found out this weekend in our State Tournament as Minors was as tight a shot as I've seen in along while.  More on that later.

On a THS, everyone in this town over exagerates the middle puddle to the point of ridiculous.  The bowlers who don't have alot of "hand" love it because they can go up the outsides against the bumper and never have the ball crash left at the end of the pattern.  Anyone with hand can't throw this line even at 20 mph because at the end of the pattern the ball is going left, fast.  Once you move a bit in to keep it right of the 1-3, a miss in and the ball skates.
I normally go to more aggresive equipment and play much deeper than most as I throw about 16 mph.  I also target the breakpoint since on tougher patterns it helps me take any out of bounds out of play.  Even at that it can be pretty touchy sometimes.  Grab a little or miss a pinch wide early and it will jump.  With the aggressive mentality, miss in a pinch and not get all of it and it will skate long. Usually I have a board in either direction.  The Complete allows me more room and I'm not sure yet how much as I'm still geting used to it.  With my Total On Brunswick Synthetics I'm normally about 35 to 37 with my feet.  On wood about 34 to 36, a board less.  With the Complete I can easily go to 40 to 42 on both.  Last week I tried it on the wood as my Total was hinting at some Out of bounds or at least pushing farther right and not charging back.  I ended up Starting at about 40 with the Complete and had no problem getting it to the rack.  By the end of the night I was standing about 45 and I honestly think I could have moved more.

It gets down the lane very similar to the Total but gets back from farther away and will still hook up if I do get it in a bit.  Hit is awesome as it is with the Total.

In State this weekend we knew Minors would be tight. More horror stories than not about the huge amount of oil to this point.  Since the Complete is the biggest ball in my bag right now that was the one I was throwing.  I chose to go up 3 board and hope the lane would open up from there.  Decent look but a bit fast and it was going long.  Any way shot 220+ the first two before the lanes finally started to move.  Took me five frames of trying to adjust wide and failing ( no break point target boards and tried to guess at distance )before I moved left.  Ended up about 32 and kept it inside of 12 and had a decent shot then.  Singles I went back wide and it wasn't quite the same.  Managed a buck 90 but seemed to be much touchier and wanted to hook a bit earlier, until you moved left a couple boards, then hang.  Second game went to where I finsihed Doubles and shot 2 plus again but the last game got 4 pin itis.  Tried different hand position, throwing harder, etc and kept leaving 4's, move aboard or two left and Hang city.  May have had better luck with surface as a ball with more hair would have helped.

So I guess it's mixed.  On a house shot and more managible volumes of oil it's a beast.  But on a heavier pattern or longer pattern, out of the box it mellows it down a bunch.  We kind of saw that with TJ last week on the Shark pattern too.  He seemed to really back down speed wise to get it to curl in.

I'm guessing it will be alright for me at Nationals.  Last year I had a decent look standing about 40 or so and throwing to the outside breakpoint markers but left a lot of 10's with the Total.  A little bit more volume this year it looks like so I'm hoping I can play the same area and snap the 10's out.

By the way, both the Total and Complete are drilled pattern 1 and are box finish.  As most of us don't see a moat to moat flood to often this ball should work very well as is.  But it also would have been nice to have another at 1000 Abralon yesterday.

I through mine last night for the first time.  This ball gives you great length and sharp movement towards the pocket when it breaks. The pins explode and I'm extremely happy.  I left it box cover and with fresh heavy oil, it may skid a little, but when they break down a little, you can use this ball for the night. I don't see this ball burning up, like most balls due to it's cover.  Pin carry and mix is great and lane readability is also superior.  I hope this ball will have a great life.

Thanks...

I've been using it for a couple weeks now.  Threw it on different lane surfaces and different oil patterns.  This ball has a place in my arsenal for sure.  It has good length and then makes a strong predictable move.  It is longer and stronger than any ball I have owned including Domination, Shift, One, XXX, Impulse Zone, and Strike Zone.  The only ball I use now that will start earlier and still cover more back end boards is my Vapor Zone and part of that is due to the surface getting tracked up, so maybe not a fair comparison of abilities.

The ball is good from the track on very fresh oil, but after a few shots you start heading inside, slowly but inevitably.  The problem comes in when you wind up having to chew off more of the puddle than the ball can handle.  While this ball is supposed to handle heavy oil, it is no match for the center of a house shot.  It still tries to make a good move on the end but unless you start getting it outside faster there is trouble lurking if you try to play it flat in the puddle.  Maybe someone with more hand could do it but that isn't me.

I had it drilled with the pin slightly above and outside my ring finger and the mass at 45 degrees with a small weight hole near the PAP.  It was a little skittish out of the box but when I very lightly cleaned it by hand with a white Scotchbrite cloth wet with cleaner it seemed to lose that little unpredictability.  Now it is just a very consistent ball that caries well.  It does better kicking out corner pins than anything else I've got from deeper inside.  That's what I was hoping for and that's what I got.  I'm very happy with this ball.  It's not magic but it's the closest thing I've got.  Two thumbs up!

Pin to PAP- 4 inches
Degree of MB- 75 deg.

This Complete NV is the strongest pearl I have ever put in my hand. This ball is clean right through the mids and just makes a very snappy, very strong move on the backend. You definately need some oil for this ball. Great ball though. Hits very hard, Carries extremely well, and rolls really nice. I ended up putting a hole in between the pin and my PAP to weaken this jewel and its rolling even better now. Shot 280 with it but no 300 yet. It'll come. Hope this helps. Specs in profile.

IT WASN'T EVEN 24 HOURS AND I BOWLED A 300 WITH THIS BALL, I STOOD ON 30 BOARD AND THREW AT 15 BOARD @ 18MPH STRIKE EVERY TIME,,, IF I MISSED MY BOARD BY FROM 5 - 10 BOARDS RIGHT SO CLOSE TO THE GUTTER IT ALWAYS CAME BACK CORRECT WHICH MEANS THIS BALL HAS ALOT OF ROOM FOR MISTAKES,,, LANE CONDITIONS WERE HIGH OIL LIKE ALWAYS THIS IS A MUST HAVE BALL

Looking for a ball similar to my bite... just shiny to get down the lane. Got exactly what I was looking for, very nice length and explosive backend. First 3 games out of the box this morning go 259 with a 9 pin and a 10 pin. 2nd game leave a 4 pin and 2 10 pins for 238. 3rd game left one 10 pin for 279 and a 776 at a house ive been struggling in lately. Couldve very easily have been 800, only one ball a little high (4 pin). Very very pleased with this ball.

Complete NV:
Drilled: pin up, cg kicked out slightly, MB at 45 degrees

-----*---
---0-0---
-------.--
----------
----O----mb

I throw about 450 rpm at about 17 mph +/-

I was looking for a skid/flip ball which would still be controllable, and dominate fresh conditions(clean backends)

And this ball fit the bill perfectly.

Easy through the heads it makes a serious turn left at about 45 feet. I haven’t seen a perfect fresh shot ball, able to play extreme angles but also square up and play straighter. A very good ball for opening up the lane, on tougher conditions that have little or no carry down. When carry down is present, the ball still turns over and is still aggressive but you WILL see allot of ringer’s. So either put a little more hand in the ball or take off some speed, easily correctable, but still troublesome.

Overall a good ball.

I have heard many great things about this ball and have seen many of my fellow bowlers roll with it.  I am hoping to get a lot out of this ball.  Plan to get it on the lanes prior to going to New Mexico in June.  Anybody out there ever been to the Nationals Tourney?  I am heading there in June and would like to get any advice possible.  Since I am flying I am only taking five balls with me: Total NV, Complete NV, Special Agent, Black Widow Bite, and spare ball.  Think this should be enough.  Any thoughts?

I drilled the Complete 5 by 5. I wanted to get good length through the heads and a hard arc off the break.

The Complete met my expectations and then some. As long as there is a little oil up front and no carrydown I can get to the pocket with regularity. It seems to wiggle in the carrydown and not carry very well but a surface change would probably help that but I didn't drill it for that purpose.

When the shot breaks down and the fronts begin to go the ball can still push down the lane and get to the pocket but it seems to use up to much energy trying to get there so carry is horrible (at least for me) but again I didn't drill it for that.

Overall a very good ball on its intended condition. You will definitely be able to keep up with anyone on the high scoring house shots. 299/809 in tournament this past weekend on an easy house condition.

Thanks!

I won this ball in a raffle. wasn't"t going to drill it because I normally use Lane 1. have a buddy that i drill for on the tour and he asked me to punch it to see what I think.
so here goes:
Ball
15#  3" pin 3oz top
lay out
pin above ring finger mass bias 2" rt of thumb
my axis
6 1/4   11/16 up

ths  1st game Played the wet dry line like I always do--left a lot of 10 pins shot 202 weak 10 first ball in the 10th. I think it was a little to clean through the heads. The ball didn't drive through the pocket at that angle. 2nd game adjusted made a 3 & 1 move. Caught the friction earlier  clean through the heads good even back end reaction. sent it wide it still recovered.
the ball carried surprisingly well. Shot 268 11 strikes open in the 5th frame. third game started out great had trouble when i caught it well. had to stay with a light hand. Had to stay mellow temperment-was on a triple got a little more on the ball it skated too long Shot 212.
Over all a good ball seems to need friction. I really like the even reaction. I am now going to compare it to my Lane 1 pieces that are similarly laid out and surfaces. Hard to change now but I will give an honest opinion.

I don't know the layout, but it is drilled for a left handed bowler and I never wanted to really it because it worked so well for me. I've loved this ball from the moment I threw it. I have a sanded one and a polished one. The ball hooks a lot polished and a little less sanded, but is still great. Overall the ball is great on all lane conditions.

Well, I've got a chance to throw this ball on league shots, PBA patterns and some Kegel patterns.  It still is an OK ball but it has changed from when it was newer.  I tried to get the same shape back on the league shot and just could never quit do it.  Now the normal track shot wants to start up earlier and hit softer or if I polish it, then it has a tendency to wait too long to read the lanes.  I can no longer play tighter inside and carry corners.  I have to give it a little more room outside so it can generate some angle on the back end.  I've tried hot water baths, 1000, 2000, and 4000 grits w/o polish and with polish.  No matter what I try the ball just doesn't seem to have the same action through the pins.  Kind of disappointing for the number of games on it, maybe about 200-250.

Ebonite Complete NV - 15lbs

Pin to CG Distance - 2"

Topweight - 3.25 oz

Layout - Pin Under Bridge, MB Out 45 degrees

Ball Reaction:  Midlane Read and a hard arc to flip backend reaction.

Comments:

I got this ball as a result of being on the winning team for the Ebonite Elite Scratch League for last year.  Because of the short pin, it was laid out with the pin under the bridge and the CG out 45.  After throwing it in a few bowling centers and on some PBA patterns, I would say that it's the strongest pearl ball I've ever thrown.   The drawback is that you have to know when to put it away.  As long as there's enough oil to get it to the break point, it works fine.  Once the heads start to dry up and it starts to see friction a little early, it tends to lose energy and quit in the backend, resulting in flat 10s.   That's pretty much been the case if I'm using it on a THS or on the Scorpion or Shark pattern.   Due to the fact that it rolls too soon with 2000 abralon w/ polish and taking it to 4000 w/polish makes it way too oil/dry sensitive.

In summary, this ball works really well as long as you have head oil.  Once the front part of the lane dries up, move left and go around it more or put it away.   Good ball, but I like the Momentum better, so this is probably antoher candidate for selling back to the pro shop for trade in credit.   Probably would've been better with a longer pin and a pin up drill.

4x3 pin under ring

ball is ok like mild traffic after work with no air conditioner or heating, depending on where you live and what season you're currently experiencing

pin action is nice, like finding the cockroach in your burger before eating it

trajectory is unexpected like finding out they gave your a vasectomy when you went in for your tonsils

color is pretty...no elaborations the ball is pretty

conclusion:
ball is in my practice bag, it will take out the pin in the gutter, it will be the ball used to practice 7th arrow throwing over the gutter caps, it will be the ball used when I'm drunk and I'm trying to either hit the masking units or the ceiling (kidding, I don't drink), and it'll be the ball I use when I get that feeling of self loathing.

Layout of Complete NV:
http://i437.photobucket.com/albums/qq98/marc_kingpin/066.jpg

Bowler's Spec:
5 1/4" PAP
15-16 mph
Medium rev rate
Right Handed

The Complete NV is supposed to be a  pretty strong ball with alot of midlane motion. But the layout on my ball made it go somewhat longer down the lane than what I really wanted with the pin 5 1/4" from my PAP. I first tried it with some polished at 2000 grit abralon and at times I found it to go past the breakpoint and ended up with over/under reaction. The polish on this ball would work better for those with a higher rev rate. But the backend reaction was very good and carry was great if the ball hits the pocket dead on. Preferred to use this ball playing inside from the 18 board to 7 at breakpoint since it will have a skid/flip reaction

I later took it down to 2000 grit abralon dull and got a little better reaction and read halfway down the lane. It also took away some the power it had on the backend but was able to read the lanes somewhat earlier but not by much. At that surface it makes a good benchmark ball to see how the lanes will play out. Playing it straight up the 10-12 board was fine but it doesn't take long for the coverstock to soak the oil up. Kind of hard to keep it consistent once I played it inside the oil around the 18-20 board. Taking the surface down gave the ball more a strong arc midlane and the room for error was average. Even with the dull surface my NVD was still hooking a few feet sooner than the Complete NV.

How do I rate this ball: 7/10
It's a not a bad ball but layout choice is critical to get the right type of reaction and pin action with this one. Never really saw a lost in ball reaction even after 50 games or so. The ball seemed to be too condition specific for me but a good pearlized ball if you need one in your arsenel to read the lanes earlier.

Got this ball the day it came out.  Pin is directly above bridge. I think its a 3" pin. Bought it cause I need something to replace my Angular One after  I pretty much rolled it till it waved the white flag (I loved that ball).  Well, its not like the angular one, that's for sure.

I just haven't been able to figure this thing out for some reason.  When I do  find some kind of a line with it, it seems to leave a lot of taps. Not just ten pins either.  I have tried many coverstock adjustments too.  Not a bad ball by any means, but I have noticed that Ebonites products ar good for about a half a season, and then they are just full of oil and start to die, even with regular cleanings every 9 games or so.

This is a great ball when the conditions are right for it, with extra juicy heads and dry back ends this ball loves head oil.  I wanted this ball because I felt it was going to give me the skid/flip reaction I was looking for in my next pearl reactive.  Mine is drilled with the factory recommended drilling, pin just above and between the fingers and MB kicked 3.5" out, for the long and strong reaction that it's supposed to have, and I have retained the OOB polished finish. I would say this is the perfect ball when the back ends have little carry down I'm not a particularly high rev player and I throw it plenty hard so if there's too much oil down the lane it misses the break point and stays right, but when it tickles a dry board watch out as this ball gets very angular the farther it skids before hooking.  This ball can be very over/under when the condition is not optimal.  If it finds oil down the lane it won't recover. At the house I bowl in now I am averaging 215 with this ball as it suits the condition well but can be too much ball when the back ends are really hooking and is not good if there is much carrydown.

Another long and strong from the big E. Angular. I like it for THS. Reads the pattern well. Co
comes back from anywhere. Good reaction, good carry. A favorite. Sadly it died.

Likes: Pretty ball. Got it free from the shop (used). Put pin in ring finger, cg 45 degrees, mb right of thumb 1". @ 4000 polish, ball goes to the end of oil and makes hard left turn. Decent carry.

Dislikes: lots of 4 pin leaves, sometimes can't get wide enough untill too wide.
