I absolutely loved this ball when I rolled it at an Ebonite demo.  It conquered the condition nicely (heavy head and midlane oil, moderate carrydown) and hit the pocket with a lot of force.  One thing that really caught my eye about this ball it its ease of surface tweakability given that it's a particle ball.  Out of the box it's a monster on carrydown.  Give it a litte more surface and this ball may just hook in heavier oil.  Shine it up and it' may give that booming backend I like.  I took one home as a comp, but have yet to drill it for myself.  It'd be too much ball for my condition, so it'll be used as a tournament ball.  I would have to say this ball is something every tournament bowler needs in his/her arsenal.  Kudos to Ebonite for a job well done on this ball.

This is the best ball Ebonite has made. I tested the ball over the weekend

and this ball has excellant carry, good length, and a devastating

backend. This ball will definitely improve your game and is a must for

any top flight bowler.

THIS IS THE ANTI TOMBSTONE THIS BALL HOOKS AS MUCH AS MY LA NINA, YET WHERE AS MY LA NINA HOOKS THROUGHT THE ENTIRE LANE THIS BALL HOOK ALL ON THE BACKEND.  THIS IS THE BEST EBONITE PARTICLE TO DATE

Ebonite again continues to stride forward with this latest release in the proactive family of balls. The first thing I saw was a coverstock similiar to Columbia's Veneer. A very smooth proactive surface that glides this ball thur the heads with a strong continous arc on the backends. I drilled this merlot colored ball Pin 3 3/8 with the Bomb at a 11:00 or 255 Degree angle. This ball is wonderful, no under and over reaction with smooth transition from oil to dry. The "Up the backer" and Medium to Slow speed player will love this ball for oily lanes. Can be polished easily for more length on dry. Great Job to Brian Pursel and Randy Teitloff from Ebonite for producing a great proactive ball. Thanks for reading my review, Dwight.

I find it hard to believe that this is a 'particle ball'.  Most other particle balls I've tried in the past seem to roll way too early and save up nothing for the backend.  That's great for a flood, but I never see that extreme.  A better idea is the TPS II with less loading of particles in the cover.  It goes through the front and midlane well then rolls more on the back as opposed to the 'snap' reaction with standard reactives.  And since it's rolling on the backend instead of skidding, it hits very hard.  Great ball for heavier oil with fresh backends.  On a scale from 1 to 10, I give it a 9.

I have just returned from the ABC, while there I participated on the sport condition shot at the convention center. After struggling with my reaction on the early shots, Bill Calhoon from the Ebonite booth set up a TPS II to give me a stronger reaction through the mid-lane. This ball was phenomenal. It gave me recovery on a condition that didn't have free hook. This ball also worked well at the Bowlers Journal. I like the versatility on medium oil to oily lanes. Thank you Brian Pursel for a winner.

I drilled the TPS II with stacked drilling. The pin is just to the right of my ring finger and the CG is between my pin and thumb hole.  I also put in a weight hole about 6 inches to the right of the pin.

This ball hooked way too much.  It slid and then on the back end it took off.  I had to stand all the way on the left and get the ball out to the two board to get it to hit on the right side of the head pin.  But, after I sanded the TPS II to 1200 grit and stuck in the Luster King, I could throw the TPS II with ease.  This coverstock is very versitle.  I threw this ball after the changes and got a 692 with the high game being a 255.  If the ball hits pocket watch out cause the pins are goin' flyin'!

My TPS II was set up as a 4 x 3 1/2. I started with a big block (4 ounces) and tried the CG just under and to the right of my ring finger, with the pin directly above it. A large extra hole was needed in the finger/positive quadrant to remove the finger weight (down to 1/2 oz.) and by the time we were done, it had no top weight left either. The TPS II is my strongest ball to date. When it hits light, the pins topple, the 10-pin always slaps out and the solid hits carry well, too, except for an occasional solid 7-pin. Has worked well playing inside the 4th arrow for me. I had much more luck with this TPS than the original - but it could be the layout.

I've had this ball from day one to day 5.  I got wrapped up into believing that this Matrix would be the one.  WRONG.  It's not a bad ball but it's not a great ball either.  For some reason this line of balls just didn't have that extra oomph that my other balls have.  My garbage man has stopped picking up my can.  Ruptured disc.

After having thrown the original TPS for a long time, I got the TPS II and was less than thrilled.  I have it stacked leverage with the bias at 12 o'clock.  The ball seems to use more energy to move fewer boards than the original did.  The action on the corner pins is still solid, but I find myself having to throw it down the boards to have any chance of it not bouncing off the five pin straight back at me.  It also reacts more strongly moving from wet to dry, in my opinion over-reacting.  I suggest you stick with the Original TPS rather than spending your money on this one.
We call it a "solid 10" to make ourselves feel better.

I have had this ball for a while and love it. I layed it out at 3 3/8x 3 3/8 it had a 1/2 pin. I sanded this ball to 400 grits. Man does it have a really nice strong arc to it. It is a little bit too much for normal house shot. On the sport shot it is a great ball it really cuts through the oil well. I am a tweener and this ball gives me a great look when I need to get in and dig through some oil. If you are a cranker this ball would be a hard decision you would need to polish it up a great deal and give it a get down the lane drilling.

good luck and good bowling,
Michael

Scared of all the 'particles die after X amount of games' i was weary to choose this over a trimax 2 from the summer camp.  well ive had this ball for 2 years...drilled 3 3/8 stacked leverage with a itty bity weight hole near my PAP. 16-17mph, med. revs, 10degree axis tilt, hit the 15, out to 8 and back.

This ball is AWESOME once my Pantera begins to be squirty.  This ball doesnt roll-out, doesn't over react.  The last 3 weeks i've felt like i've had an area of 15 boards...at the foul line.  Carries VERY well even on high or light hits.  I have only de-oiled this ball once, and that was well over a year ago.  Just some towel u get from a YABA tourney to wipe it off with each shot and its still rolling strong for me.  No 'particle-death' for me
9/10 ---has some problems with the heavy soup, but once theres a small track/play area..its golden.
