Ebonite advertises this ball as "the most tested brand ever released." Personally, I can vouch for that claim judging from the ball's amazing versatility. While it is understood that a bowler can throw a ball virtually anywhere on a house shot and still score well, the Mission does something different. It's continued drive through the pocket after reaching its breakpoint is unparralled. The Mission does not over or under read the lane regardless of throwing style. I have thrown it using targets a cranker, stroker, and tweener would use. Each reaction was not only consistent, but dominating once hitting the pins.

I have used the ball in league three times since release and have yet to score under 750. Tossing a 300 with it last night. I highly recomment the Mission for anyone's arsenal as it will make a tremendous fit, no matter your revolution style.

WOW i have drilled up 2 of these balls so far. The 1st I used the recommended layout and polished with powerhouse for medium to dry lanes. The result was amazing, super clean threw the heads with an amazing backend read and angle to the pocket. I am so impressed with the continued drive this ball gives and the explosive hitting power of this ball. By far my favorite and go to ball in my bag today.

The 2nd i stacked with the pin 3 1/2 inches from my PAP and left the cover factory finished for heavy oil patterns. Once again the result was pure awesome. What oil i have ran into this ball seems to have no problem. It reads the midlane amazing and gives an amazing continued backend reaction.

Way to go EBONITE TEAM keep up the great work and i so look forward to the next amazing release.

The Mission is an Awesome ball!! I was very impressed with its continuous roll. The ball has a great mid lane roll and continuation towards the pins. The new XL1200 coverstock has more texture which creates more motion and this ball has lots of motion towards the pins!!! The pins stay low and scattered as the ball enters the pocket thus creating great pin reaction.

Mine is drilled with the pin above the middle finger and the CG kicked right. The MB is drilled about an inch away from the thumb hole . No weight hole needed. I kept the OOB finish.

I have used the ball on synthetic and wood lanes and have had a great reaction. The ball gives me more versatility as the lane conditions change.

I highly recommend this ball to all bowlers.

Ebonite......MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!

The Ebonite Mission is truth in advertising.  This ball is unbelievable.  I drilled my first one very similar to drilling #2 on the recommended drilling sheet.  Pin placement is 4 ¼ inches from PAP and I needed an extra hole.  The great mid lane roll with strong continuation to the pins is very impressive.  I left the surface as it was out of the box and have not seen the quick lane shine like with high performance balls of the past.  The Mission provides great ball reaction on both synthetic and wood lanes.  As lane conditions change, the Mission has proven to be up to the task providing me with good versatility.

I would recommend the Mission to any bowler no matter their revolutions/style.  The Mission has already proven its self to be very effective with all styles of players and on a variety of lane conditions.  Just look at the last 3 or 4 PBA shows.  You have seen the Mission in the hands of Kelly Kulick, Mike Fagan, Mike Scroggins, and Mika Koivuniemi.  Within the last month, the Mission has won two Lumber Liquidators Tour events including the historic PBA Tournament of Champions.

It is a very exciting time to be a Regional Staff member and know that I have a superior ball over my competition in my arsenal.

If your Mission is to dominate your competition in league and tournament play, then you must have a Mission in your bag!

Mission #15
Surface:OOB
Drillingin 5-1/2", MB 60 degrees
Lane condition:THS

The Mission has the same layout as my Magic Action just a different surface. Both are OOB. The Mission starts hooking just a touch sooner and finishes about 2 boards stronger than the Magic Action. The backend continuation and carry are great.

Just drilled this Mission up last Friday and threw a couple games in practice on a fresh THS. Pin is 4" from PAP above ring finger, cg inline below and mb kicked out right of thumb in the strong position. Because of the fresh shot I was able to play game #1 with a down and in shot from 15 to 5. Game # 2 came much later after my friend and I had collectively thrown about 20 games and I had to move left to 25 swinging the Mission out to around the 7 board. The reaction I got in both games was exactly as I have seen from others using this ball locally and on TV (i.e. Kelly Kulick). It clears the heads effortlessly and seems to almost ignore the midlane the "magic" occurs around 45 feet where the ball begins it's very smooth arc into the pocket, then at about 50 feet it begins to rev and just before entry it turns on the aterburners going intio a full end over end roll. This results in a very controllable but powerful ball. It's not flippy and overall looks unremarkable going down the lane. It's that last 10 feet that sets it apart from the others. Carry was excellent, pins were kept low and taps were minimal.

My two practice games were 245 and 268. Yes, it's a soft shot, high scoring house but the Mission's carry and powerful but controllable characteristics is what caught my eye. I think think this ball is going to be a God send for strokers that need a powerfull reaction without sacrificing control. Tweeners, like myself, will love it for it's versatility and crankers might not have to use that 6th arrow quite as much. This is a great offering from Ebonite that lives up to all the hype.

Me:
Righty
Tweener
Lots of speed
Decent revs and axis tilt
PAP = 5" right from center of grip

House:
ProAnvils
42' THS

Ball:
Mission
OOB finish
Pin next to and even with ring 3.5" from PAP
CG kicked right 1" from PAP
MB about 1.25" right of thumb in a strong position
No x-hole

I got this puppy drilled about a week or so before my Total Bedlam (which I also reviewed).  I was skeptical at punching either of these up because of my repeated dislike of anything made by Ebonite.  I just didn't matchup well with them and had tried a bunch.  Anywho, I gave the Mission a try because I liked what I saw on the PBA telecasts and what I read on the internet.

Boy am I glad I bought the Mission!  This ball is money.  Is clears the heads with ease, revs hard in the mids, and just charges through the pins.  The ball does need oil though so don't try using it on medium to drier lanes unless you have very firm ball speed.  Pin action is fantastic as previously stated here by other reviewers of this ball.  The core is asymmetric in design, but symmetric in nature which I really like.  Less over/under but still retains the recovery and aggressiveness.  I really don't know what else to say about this ball other than it's the real deal.  Happy bowling.

Lefty tweener 15 mph . Just came in 2nd place in tournament. 729 - high 257 1st series I play up 12 , breakpoint 8 . This ball is so clean through the heads and drilled with the a strong arc on the backend. This ball is Much better than the Evolve and is stronger than my favored playmaker. I highly reccommend this ball for all types.

I just bought an Ebonite Mission about 2 weeks ago and I must say...I am very impressed with the ball. I haven't really heard of Ebonite, producing anything really good in the past few years, so I really didn't have high hopes for this ball. However...I was proven wrong.

This ball has really impressed me. From what I've seen It seems to react better on dry lanes, or lanes with light to medium oil. If the lanes are burnt out Expect this ball react too much and come in too hard. If there's too much oil on the lanes Don't expect much reaction from the ball.

On ideal lane conditions, this ball will go long and come back strong.

All in all, I am very happy with this ball and recommend this ball to anyone.

This ball is the first out of the bag for me.  Corners like nothing else I have seen. Needs some resemblance oil with out of box surface.  Shot 300 / 804, carries very well, put it away when they are drier (in my opinion).

I have been a fan of the Ebonite Magic series and this is a great follow up.

Drilling:
Pin to PAP distance: 4.5”, MB to PAP distance: 5”, pin above middle finger and 3” above midline. Low hole 3" over 3" down from CG with 1" bit and 3" deep.

This balls is absolutely amazing.  Hits very hard with a absolutely great pin carry. This can be attributed to it's strong continuation through the pins. The biggest selling point with this ball is the versatility you can have with this ball from the drilling alone, not to mention the coverstock tweaks make this some ball. You can really tell that the guys at Ebonite put a lot of time and work into this piece.  It is really nice to have such a great buzz about the Ebonite Family once again .

Mission #1
Layout 50x5x30 with no hole and box finish.  Clean through the front part of the lane strong in the mid-lane, continuous, and has great recovery.

Mission #2
Layout 35x5x30 with a hole on my axis and box finish.  Still clean through the front part of the lane, picks up the lane earlier than Mission #1, continuous, and still allows me to go around it when needed.

The Mission gives me a completely different look than any of our other high end products.  It is strong with predictable ball motion.  This ball is very versatile and looks great for power players to straighter players and everyone in between.  The other thing I have taken notice to, not only with mine but all the Missions I have seen, is how it goes through the pins.  The MISSION is really unbelievable!

specs: see profile

layout: 4x4 2000 polished with motiv power gel

lanes: fresh house shot
this ball is the first ebonite ball i have drilled for myself since the complete NV. this ball is really a interesting piece for me i can really manipulate the reaction i get and the breakpoint. drilled this up 3 weeks ago and in my scratch league after a 209 game ran back to back 300's 809 series first night out. lets say i was impressed wish had moved a game earlier but since then shot another 300 last week. ball clears and reads like no other ebonite i have ever seen and the pin action is what impressed me to drill this ball up.

pbax: scorpion
all i can say is this ball for me kills it on this pattern opens up makes it feel like a over hyped house shot had a 4 game set of 1027 my personal best on this pattern

final review:
after roughly 35 games with this ball it is the first one i grab on house shot the ball is really awsome and is amazing how easy it is to find a line with. from a pro shop stand point the ball is probably the biggest sailing ball we've had since the cell. also good looking ball has shelf appeal. would recommend to anyone.

The mission is a great ball for medium heavy to heavy oil, and not a regular house shot oil pattern for crankers!!!  The ball comes back no matter how deep you throw the ball and it will not die when it hits the break point back to the pocket.  The ball clearly has raw and incredible hitting power.  It is definitely a ball to have part of your arsenal.
