After purchasing this ball from a new driller i recently went to i realized that it doesnt matter how u drill a ball all that matters is the rg the coverstock and what the ball is originally made for. no matter how much u try u cant get a ball thats made to go long to hook off the charts. with this ball i had it driled for even roll but this ball is still hooking off the charts i cant control this ball on dry lanes even though its made to be an even rolling ball. i recently bowled an 8 gamer in which i scored really high for my first 6 games but then found myself lost after it dried out cause i didnt have anything for dry lanes. i recommend this ball for mid to heavy lanes but dont take it out after 4 or 5 games because it doesnt carry well on carrydown.

For a pearl ball, this ball is very strong. Probably due to the strong cover on the ball, but is still amazing to me how early this ball also bites. Does not start as soon as the Agression or Vortex 2 Particle, but is very close behind them both.

I drilled this ball with a 4 1/2 pin from axis with pin below bridge and a little right of the center line.  This ball hooked more than I thought it would  for the finish on the ball.  It hooked more than the Conquest but not as much as the Agression it was in the middle.  It rolled very good with a good backend.  This worked great on the house shot.

If your looking for a ball that finished great on the back in OIL, this is your Surprise ball, I left this cover stock alone and drilled it with the pin under the ring and CG toward the palm. WOW
What a reaction, It reacted more that I thought it would. Great ball for reading the MIDS

Just want to say that I have already drilled two of these and they both do the right thing. The first one I drilled I layed it out like every first ball I drill. Pin under my ring and cg swung out enough to put a small hole on my axis just to bring it to about a half ounce pos. This ball reacted a perfect amount sooner for me than the Savage Pearl. they work great together. The second one I wanted get some more length out of the ball with a snappier backend. So I got one with a pin out about 3to 4 inches and put the pin over my ring finger about 1/2 inch or so, and the cg just a touch right of my center line. This ball answered perfect. It gave me more length and a very controllable back end reaction. This ball is a must have.

Predator Sparkle 2-3"pin, 2.5oz top

I drilled this exactly like my Pearl Savage. Pin below ring finger, Cg right below. The Predator was not was hard revving as the Savage, more of an even reaction. Also tended to push past the break point at times. I took the box finish off with 1000grt wet sand. Reaction was much better. It gave me some read in the mids with a swooping backend reaction. Gave me a step up from the Prl Savage. Great new addition.

I drilled this ball 3 3/8 x 0; extra hole 1 inch past PAP.  With this drilling I expected a very smooth shape.  What I found was a strong move at the breakpoint and then an arc off of that.  If I open the lane up too much, this one will stop, not because of the ball but because of the drilling and my soft speed.  I didn't expect a particle ball to turn that hard so I cant wait to get another one and drill it stacked.  For now, this one does not over and under and I always know where it is going.  Good Job Ebonite.

OK I just realized now that fall leagues are starting up, I'm going to need something that will actually move on oil (NOT the Puma even though it is a godlike ball, it just isn't strong enough for a first shift league).  So anyhow I went with the initial idea of purchasing a V2 Particle until the proshop operator (Keith Pappas) said that ball would probably be too aggressive for me. Instead he recommended the Predator Red Sparkle.  GOOD CALL KEITH!  I just tried this ball out today and lemme tell you it hits like a F@*#%&$ Truck!  I shot very low the first game cuz the approaches were real slippery and i fell on my rearend about 7 out of 10 frames, but once I got used to the slide I went and shot 268 my second game (8 count XXXXX stone 7pin XXXX stone 8 pin).  This thing is absolutely FEROCIOUS, just like a PREDATOR should be.  It gets down the lane very long and has an amazingly controllable yet lethal arc into the pocket.  Hopefully this ball will bring me much success in the future and anyone who purchases this ball, Trust me you won't be upset.  Thanks to all the guys at Pappy's Proshop, ya done good on this guy ball.  And as always Thanks to Ebonite for continuing to create beautiful bowling balls, they tell me to BOWL TO WIN, and I plan on doing just that with me new PREDATOR RED SPARKLE!

First of all thanks for taking time out to read this review. I have had 2 of these balls for months now.  One is drilled axis leverage and the other is rev leverage.(that is drilling 3 and 4 on the EBONITE symmetric core layout sheet)  The other night in league I threw the rev leverage one. The lanes were oil to about 35 and the backend were striped. I started standing on 31 crossing the arrows around 20 out to about 8 and the ball comes back crushing the pocket.  Finish the first game with 252. The second game carrydown came into play; moved a little right finish the second with 246.  The third, stared to dry out a little move about seven boards left and finish the last game with a 235.  Finish the night with a 733 series.  I truly must say this is a good league ball and also a good tournament ball.  EBONITE once again GREAT job!  I you are wondering what my axis and how I track it's in my profile.

Remember........BOWL TO WIN......only comes with practice...GOOD BOWLING!
you can only bowl one frame at a time...relax and concentrate on KICKING BUTT!

Just drilled this ball up.  Everyone said it was a decent ball for the money and had a nice reaction.  I drilled it stacked leverage.  I threw this ball after league was done and the heads were starting to get burned up and the backends were a little carried down.  The ball surprisingly had excellent length with a hell of a reaction on the backend.  it was a really strong arc on the backend, but i found it to be controllable through the breakpoint.  The ball hit the pocket very hard.  The light hits demolished the pocket and the heavy ones carried well too.  the only discrepancy i had so far with the ball was if i got into the dry to quickly with too much hand, it would jump fast.  But then again, that's my fault for throwing it there.  overall, i really like this ball so far.  Good mid-priced ball, excellent reaction, and awesome hitting power.  This ball will be great for a variety of different conditions.  I would definitely recommend this ball to virtually any bowler due to its versatility.

Just wanted to give an update on this ball now having more experience throwing it.  I tried it out tonight on a fully stripped pattern with oil lengthening 38 feet.  The ball started to give me a little over under reaction.  I noticed if I hit the ball harder with my fingers and got it to the right in the dry, it would come back.  Other times the ball would rev but not move much on the backend.  After figuring out that I have to give the ball a straighter line, it worked fine.  I still ended up only shooting 655, but the ball still did for the most part what I wanted.  I'm getting an x-factor later in the week that I'm gonna get drilled axis leverage, so the ball will roll through the oil.  Hopefully this will work well with the rest of my arsenal.  I will let everyone know my opinions on it soon.

the predator red sparkle is a great addition to the
cat series.
i would say that the red sparkle would be a good complement
to an arsenal that included the savage and savage pearl.
just use a layout that creates a strong arc on this ball
and it would be a great combo to the bag that could include a
sanded savage(aggressive layout) and a savage pearl(for when
they start to burn up)!

Wow! this ball is the first out of the bag for medium lane conditions

Drilled Stacked leverage 4 X 4, with a weight hole (works for me)

it has a very smooth roll and very predictable hook. I can play many lines with this ball and get those "oh so perfect" strikes. So perfect that I have left plenty of solid 8's (im a lefty). This ball is FORGIVING. I can miss my mark 2 to 3 boards on the left or right and still get a strike (sometimes messy ones, but I take'em.)

Im very sad that Ebonite discontinued this ball. but you can still get this at your proshop for a limited time, SO RUN! and pick one up
I only paid 75.00 for mine and since they don't make them anymore there should be some good prices on ebay

Rating Overall: 8
Oil: 6 (stay in the middle)
medium: 9.5 (I play anywhere from the 1st to 3rd arrow)
Light: 9.0 (you got to move left and throw it faster)
