I got this at a demo days in Vegas when I was out there 2 weeks ago. I had it drilled pin 4" from pap cg 75 degrees (4x4). This ball goes very long and makes a strong move. I have not had a better ball for dry lanes since my old Super Beast. I have yet to find a condition where this ball burns up. If you need length and pleanty of hit, I highly recomend this ball. My thanks to John at Sunset lanes for drilling it for me and fixing my grip problems.

drilled stinger lf last week threw it for the first time today.
ball started 15.3 with 3 oz of top and pin 2.
put pin right below ring finger....cg kicked out small deep
weight hole on val below midline.

bowled 2 different houses with it today.
first house wood lanes wood approaches.
fairly heavy long flat pattern.
played out side ball went fairly long....nice arc to the
pocket. setting ball down on about 10 playing break point of 6-8.

second house first generation synthetics...approaches and lanes.
the pattern was one of the abc sport conditions. even though this
ball gets to the break point very clean still not enough oil to
play up the boards. setting the ball down at about 20 playing break
point of about 12.

this ball gets down the lane very well. rolls almost like plastic
to the break point.....then once it hits the break point rolls alot
like a blue or red pearl hammer....hit is as good as any high end
equipment i have ever thrown....pin carry is exceptional...keeps
pins low...and mixes them like nothing i have thrown in a very long
time. would like to  get a case of them and try a few different drillings.
really like the tornados....but at least initially this appears to be a
much better ball for my game and the price is very good.

I drilled this five inch pin above the ring finger strong extra hole 1 inch past val.  For me the good thing about this ball is it pushes farther than my pearl savage.  The surprising thing is how much ground it makes up on the backend.  Lets just say it's less than a pearl savage but not a lot.  Sometimes on drying conditions thats all you need to have more power at the pins.  I believe this ball does just that.  Mine skates through the fronts and has plenty left on the back.  I would like to get another one and drill it leverage to see how much "tamer" it would be on the back.  However, on regional patterns, this one works great.

General Information
I would not consider this ball a 'dryer' lane ball as mentioned. It does get through the heads quite well but snaps HARD at the first sight of dry.

Condition A
Tried to play an outside line initially but due to this type of pattern the breakpoint was too early. After that I moved in and played more around 4th arrow out and the ball worked wonders from that angle. It hits VERY hard and rolls a little bit later in comparison to most other Ebonite products. I really enjoy this ball on this pattern when up the boards with urethane does not work and an inside angle is necessary.

Condition B
LOL NO. If you want to create your own over/under try it.

Condition C
I was able to use this ball on this pattern if played straight up the outside but there was Zero room for error. Like stated before, if it hit the dry, it takes off. If you fluctuate your speed too much, the reaction is squirlly. I am going to try this again on this condition this week and (1) throw it with a lower track and (2) throw a little more of a fluff shot to see what happens.

Final Thoughts
I really enjoy this ball, but like most of today's equipment it is very condition specific for me and is not really the lighter condition reactive that I thought I was getting. Overall I like the hit and absolutely love playin inside with it when I am able. Also, for the price, I am amazed at how hard it hits.

I have two of this ball. Ball # 1 is drilled with 4 1/2 inch pin from my axis point. The pin is on center of grip line 2 inches above CG. This ball gets down the lane and has good back end. This ball is very good on little oil. Ball # 2 is drilled with a 1 1/2 inch pin from CG. I drilled this one with the pin on my axis. This ball goes down the lane farther than the first one. I still get a good reaction to the pocket with a nice even hook. Again a very good ball for dry lanes. If you liked the Panther you will like this ball. For me it's the best ball Ebonite makes for dry lanes.

Used on a variety of conditions from lighter oil with carrydown, medium oil with fresh backends, and completely toasted open bowling conditions.
Anything more than a medium oiled condition, keep it in the bag.

With this drilling and the shiney resin cover, the ball goes long (about the same length as a similarly drilled Savage Pearl), but makes a hard, controlled arc at the breakpoint (as opposed to the snap of the Savage).  Savage hooked about 4 boards more than the Stinger 2pc LF on medium conditions with fresh backends.

Carry is devastating on flush hits, and it very good on light hits. Variation in hand position, will not cause the ball to overreact or under react.  Ball did seem to carry better with a more ?up-the-back? release.

On medium oil with fresh or flying backends, this ball is superior for me when compared to most shiny resins (like V2P, Savage, Conquest), as it provides a defined, readable, arcing move at the breakpoint, but still crushes the pins.  I play the Stinger LF over the centre arrow, out to around the 5th board, 40-some feet down the lane, then left turn into the pocket.  Everything is under control though.

On medium oil (& medium light oil) with carrydown, the ball just does not seem to have enough umph to kick out the corner pins consistently enough for my liking.  Too much skid close to the pin deck.  For this condition, use equipment with a more dynamic core and/or more powerful coverstock (V2 solid, Lane#1 Pearl Bomb, Trauma ER, Boost, Inferno).

I used the Stinger 2p LF on completely toast conditions (during Cosmic bowl).   Frankly it outperformed by Storm Soccer Ball on that condition.  The only problem for me, is I had to throw the stinger LF across centre arrow out to the 2 board, to get it to the pocket.  If I executed that shot, it destroyed the rack.  

Conclusion: this ball is a great piece of equipment on medium to medium light oil with fresh or flying backends.  If your alley does not regularly strip the lanes, or if they are oiled with something more than medium, need to consider a ball with more surface and/or more dynamics.  

   I am a lefty that has good ball speed at 17-19mph.  Stinger is a great ball at a great price.  If you have many revs like me it is not for the lane condition it was designed for.  I have had two of these and they were both drilled same way. but one was a 16 and one 15 i went down to 15.

This drilling gives good length and back end like no other with high rev rate.  It is a good med to med light ball for someone like me but will work on dirt for somebody with less revs than i have.  Great great ball/  Have had multiple award scores with both of them.  The hitting power is phenomenal for a low end ball.  Cant say enough about these balls.  If you are just starting out or someone that is very good it works for all but is a steal at this price.
give this ball a ten out of ten. Great ball ebonite.
