TNV
« on: January 31, 2007, 02:05:05 AM »
My son and I both ordered the TNV. Should be here in an hour. I have strict orders from my son that his had better be drilled by the time he gets home from work!!LOL. We bowl together tonight, but if I don't get time to drill both, I wonder who'll have to wait.................

Greg, I'll check to see if they accidentally drop yours off at my house first.  Mine will be the one with the crystal 800 trophy order form blanks ready for submission.  Let me know how you punch yours out.  I'm on the IR for a couple of days and was looking into one of the "trick drillings" like Ron was speaking about on the TNV video.  I've got a fairly high rev rate and a PAP that's only 1/8" off of TJ's.  That 90 degree layout looks awfully tempting.

I think I'm going to go about 4 1/2 X 60* or 75* pin high for mine. That should put the pin nearly on top of my ring finger and MB just alongside the thumb. I might give my kid a 315* layout just to screw him up!! LOL!

Just a forewarning as I actually got mine drilled up last Tuesday after the clinic in Milwaukee.  Initial out of the box reaction off the spot is HARSH and a pinch slow or a pinch more grab will make it duck up incredibly soon.
Mine is punched pin over the bridge with the CG at 35 degrees and the MB about an inch off the thumb.  3/4 oz top,3/4 oz side without a weight hole.  Richard at Ebonite told me not to add a hole, if I need to rather adjust the surface.
Now that I have a few games on it it is much more forgiving.  Wouldn't say it hooks any less, just not so jumpy off a miss right.  One thing you WILL notice is this ball eats lots of oil and you'll need to bump right a half board about every 4 or 5 frames.  But boy does it turn and hit!!  Good Luck!!

Well, they both have holes in them and are ready to go. Mine is 4 3/4 X 75*. That is pin over ring finger and MB about 1" right of thumb. My CG is out of line by an inch to the right so I had to have a large hole (31/32" X 2 1/2" deep) to come to 3/4 oz side weight. I put the hole along the val and 1" below PAP to enhance the backend a bit. Our house has weak backends. I also took the cover down to 1000 abralon and then back up to 4000 abralon. No polish. I'll throw it tonight and see what I get.

My son's is 5" p to p X 60* with pin above bridge. That puts the MB approximately 1.25" right of thumb. 1 oz TW, 3/4 oz side. No hole. Cover at 4000 abralon taken down from oob. He bowls with me tonight so I guess I have to brace myself for another shellacing.

I'll post back tonight on the reaction. Just so you can get a grasp on our conditions, my AO is nothing more than a track shot ball until the line dries up. then i have to switch to my V2 and move deep. My AO will not recover from a dee angle.

Well, I cant give a good review on mine because I have something wrong with my release and I cant get anything to hook. BUT, my son's TNV is absolutely wild. Took him awhile to get a line with it but when he found the shot he was deadly. I'm going to have to fix my release before I can give an accurate review.
