Give me some feedback please

Debating on the last ball for my arsenal.

Currently I am using:
Big Time Sanded-pin over bridge, CG kicked out about 1.5 in, x-hole on PAP
Big Time Pearl-same layout as above except x-hole 2 inches under PAP on my VAL
The One-pin under ring, mb in strong, x-hole 1.5 inches under PAP on my VAL

The big time sanded is too much ball in most cases, I love the pearl version though.  The One does well on pretty much anything except flooded lanes.

I am thinking either the V2 Sweet or the Xcel Pearl.  I wanted something that I could go to that is slightly weaker than the BTP

I'd say go with the V2. The Xcel's suck.

Thanks for the info.

I'm surprised by the negative view of the Xcel, from what I read they were a pretty good ball.  I'd like some more opinions on that before I finalize my decision.

Between the two, GO WITH THE V2 SWEET!

I rolled both at a Demo Day and the Xcel Pearl was garbage. It pushed way too far down the lane with no backend. The V2 Sweet was playable from at least 2 marks and hadn positions. Go with the Sweet!

BrandonR-I am going to assume you mean the Xcel Pearl, since I have never heard of the v2 sweet being snappy.  

But anyways, I mulled it over, tried out someone elses V2 sweet, watched a few house bowlers using the Xcel Pearl, got some info from my driller, and input from this site...I went with the Xcel Pearl.

I like that snappy motion in my equipment so I chose to go with this one.  I am probably still going with a pin over bridge layout, but we will see.  I will post up some resuls when I get the ball drilled and tested by Wed.

I would have gone with the sweet or better yet either the cross fire or the old v2 clean.  I find that the pearl, while being a good ball, is rather strong to be under the btp.  It is NOT a bad ball by any means, just a little strong for what you want it for.  Well anyways, with a proper layout and surface prep it could conceivably work out.

BallsDeep-thanks for the input.

I had mixed reviews about the "strength" of the coverstock.  I heard from several bowlers that the ball was a good dry lane ball, and the exact opposite from others.  

My house just recently got a new lane machine and my old arsenal was used to adjust for varying lane conditions since the pattern broke down fast, and the lanes pretty much sucked.  Nowadays, the pattern holds with a bit of carrydown which is nice.

I decided at that point that I wanted a different look and a ball that I could alongside my BTP.  I have been putting a lot more games on the BTP than I had originally imagined.  The BT sanded is still too much ball for me in most cases, and the One (box finish) doesn't like a fresh THS, it skids too much.  So I am hoping that this ball will be able to take some of the load off my BTP.

I will probably use the same pin over bridge layout that I've been loving so far, with a different x-hole placement...hopefully that should give me a similar ball length but an overall different look to play the lanes.
