cell ,sauce,nvd
« on: December 07, 2008, 04:38:29 PM »
i feel it my duty to post this not a vent or a review as i am just a novice hack not a pro,but i do like to bowl.I have had my cell over a year now ,and never really seemed to match up with it.
So the last month or so i am looking at new balls and got rapped up in the hoopla and purchased the sauce and nvd.I must say that i have new respect for my cell. the cell is drilled pin up 4inches from pap the sauce is pin down 4 inches and the nvd is 4.5 under ring. the sauce has a decent shape on the lanes and the nvd ,on the right condition is a nice carrying ball ,but the cell is easily 5 boards stronger than the sauce and the nvd isnt as strong as my pluto. medium to heavy oil, maybe with proper surface and drills, but knowing what i know now i would have gotten the cell pearl or better yet kept my money.
If you are thinking about a ball and dont have a cell you could do worse ,especially if you buy one of these. bowling balls are like shoes are to women;yeah i have 100 but whats one more.

I have had all 3 as well, and I can tell you that the NVD and Sauce move alot more then the Cell, hands down. I don't know what grit you had them at, but oob on all of them, the cell wasn't anywhere near as strong. I got rid of all of them now for the Virtual Gravity, and its stronger then all of them, but the Cell was the tamest of the bunch!

I have the Sauce as well and it's a true beast.  It's punched with a 4-1/2 pin to PAP at 70 degrees which puts the CG straight under the pin which is over the ring finger.  Not as aggressive as I wanted but this is a monster as is out of the box.  Much more oil this year in the two leagues I'm in even though it's a house shot.  The same equipment I threw last year I was about 10 boards minimum right of where I was playing.  Had the Sauce punched and am 5 farther LEFT.  Other guys are still saying theres a lot of oil and can't believe where I'm standing that I'm getting this ball back.  I can literally try to throw it past the break point and can't do it.  Last ball I had with this look was a Phenom Unleashed.  By hand position change and target change I can easily change the shape of my shot.  Targeting arrows I get a more arcing look,  Hand straight up the back and it turns at 35 feet, using the inside of the ball, as Randy Peterson puts it it turns at 40.  If I target the 43 ft breakpoint markers the ball easily gets that far down lane before it goes left.  Hard continuation through the rack and no roll out noticed.  Ball really revs up nicely and keeps the pins low also.

I have thrown all three as well with similair drills and The Sauce clearly covers more boards then the NVD and lastly the Cell.  The Cell was not meant to be a hook monster.  It was meant to handle a heavy volume and keep a good reaction.

wow. once again i am flabbergasted.I just had the cover on my sauce taken to 1000 and i have no idea what i am doing wrong but i shot it on a fresh 41 foot xmas tree house shot and had to slow it down and point it to the pocket. Just to see what the shot was like i shot my gravity on the same line had to throw it with more speed and the reaction was much stronger off the break.have only had sauce for two weeks, but honestly as an oiler i dont see it. I know ... not enough oil its burning up ...lol.

How is it drilled, what layout, maybe the drilling is not meant to do what you are wanting it to do. Rev rate? MPH? The sauce should hook, and it should turn the corner with authority. Pics would be helpful if you don't know the layout.
