That's pretty typical for overseas stuff or North American equipment sold overseas.  Above what the distributor or manufacturer charges, there's the cost of shipping the stuff overseas, import tariffs, the overseas distributor's markup, and frequently the VAT (like sales tax, only it can be 15-20% or more in some places).  A $200 ball in the US (like The One and other high-high-end balls like the Paradigm) can easily be $300 or more just because you're in Japan or Malaysia or Australia.
